Description
Kramer 418 Parts Catalog – The Only Way to Order Parts Without Regret

You pull a seal out of the hydraulic cylinder on your Kramer 418 wheel loader. It’s leaking. You go to the parts counter with the old seal, they hand you a box that looks close. Three hours later, the cylinder is back together and it still leaks. Because the aftermarket cross-reference was wrong. That doesn’t happen with a real Parts Catalog from the factory. 106 pages of exact part numbers, exploded views, and the kind of detail that keeps a machine running on the first try.
Most aftermarket parts lists are copied from scans of scans. This one is a clean digital reproduction of the original Kramer-issued Ersatzteilliste – the spare parts list that came from the factory in Überlingen. German, English, and French text side by side. You don’t need to speak German to read the part numbers, but if you do, you’ll find the original naming conventions that tell you exactly what you’re buying.
Engine and Fuel Sections: Where Most Guys Mess Up
Section Motor; Engine; Moteur covers the engine block, cylinder head, pistons, rings, gaskets, and all the fasteners. Every bolt has a part number. I’ve seen guys order a head gasket set based on engine displacement guesswork and end up with the wrong thickness. The catalog lists the gasket by engine serial number range. Page 1 shows the vehicle identification plate location and how to read your serial number – that’s where you start.
Then the Kraftstoffleitungen; Fuel lines; Conduites de carburant section. Fuel return lines, injection pump feed lines, banjo bolts, copper washers – all listed with the exact O.D. and length. If you’ve ever had a fuel leak because you used a generic hose that softened over time, you know why OEM part numbers matter. The Fuel system routing in the 418 uses specific metric banjo fittings that aftermarket catalogs often get wrong.
Cooling System – Don’t Overheat Your Wallet
Motorkühlung; Engine cooling system; Système de refroidissement moteur. Radiator, fan hub, belt tensioner, thermostat housing, and the expansion tank. All OEM numbers. I’ve replaced a radiator on a 418 only to find the aftermarket core didn’t have the right mounting tab spacing. That’s a day of wasted labor. With this list, you order the correct Cooling set the first time. Page 3 lists the table of contents so you can find the exact section without flipping through 106 pages like a lost tourist.
Hydraulics, Axles, and Steering – The Real Money Stuff
Hydraulikanlage; Hydraulic system; Système hydraulique – pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, and seals. The 418 uses a hydrostatic drive listed under Hydrostatischer Fahrantrieb; Hydrostatic drive. If you need a drive motor seal or a charge pump rebuild kit, the part number is there. Vorderachse; Front axle and Hinterachse; Rear axle list the differential, final drives, and axle shafts. Steering gear (Lenkung; Steering) includes the orbital valve and linkage parts. These are expensive components. Ordering the wrong tie rod end because you guessed at a thread pitch will cost you more than the price of this manual.
Why This Isn’t a Chilton’s or Haynes
I’ve got a stack of aftermarket manuals in my toolbox that I use for ballast. They leave out torque sequences, use generic wiring colors, and list parts that fit ‘similar’ models. This Parts Catalog is an OEM publication from Kramer-Werke GmbH. The part numbers are the same numbers stamped into the casting. The exploded views show the exact fastener position – not a generic side view. If you’re serious about keeping your 418 running without chasing parts twice, this is the document you work from. Related models include the Kramer 418 Parts Catalog (same as this), the Kramer 850 2010 Parts Catalog – OEM Spare Parts List, and the Kramer 3207 2008 Parts Catalog – OEM Spare Parts List if you have a different machine in the fleet.

3 Sections You’ll Use More Than You Think
Fahrersitz; Operator seat – seat cushions, belt buckles, armrest parts. Blechtheile; Sheet-metal parts – hood, side panels, floor plates. Schilder und Werkzeuge; Labels and tools – warning decals and jack points. These are the small parts that aftermarket catalogs ignore completely. If the decal is missing and OSHA shows up, you need the correct part number fast.
- Does this manual come in English?
- Yes. The catalog is trilingual: German, English, French. The English column is clearly labeled. You can read the part numbers and descriptions without translation.
- Can I use this for a Kramer 417 or 420?
- Negative. The 418 has its own frame, hydraulic system, and engine variant. While some common parts like fuel filters or light bulbs may cross-reference, the majority of part numbers are unique to the 418 serial number range shown on page 1. Using this catalog for a different model will get you the wrong parts. I’ve seen it happen to guys who thought ‘close enough’ applied to loader parts. It doesn’t. Check your serial number before ordering anything. The 418 series runs from serial number 311 00 0001 upward, as shown in the header on page 1. If your serial number starts with something different, you need the correct catalog for your model.
You’ve got a machine that needs parts. You can guess and order twice, or you can get the factory list and order once. Access the Factory Manual from AutoRepairManuals and keep it on your tablet or print it for the shop. Your toolbox already has enough junk in it.
