First: the Latest Changes page (page B in Section A). Never start a job without checking what International changed for your model year. Second: the Circuit Diagram Instructions (pages D & E). If you don’t understand how to follow a diagram that spans two pages, you’ll misinterpret power feeds. Third: the Schematic Symbols (page F). That page is your dictionary – without it, a dashed line could mean anything. I keep a copy of that page taped to my toolbox lid.

The Section C material for the 3900FC (Forward Control Chassis) includes its own ABS system, hydraulic brake low-fluid-level light, and the resistance wire on the alternator I terminal. That 3900 chassis is common in buses and RV applications – don’t assume the wiring is the same as the FBC trucks. It’s not. Section C is separate for a reason.

Why OEM Documentation Matters for Wiring

Aftermarket wiring diagrams are garbage. Period. They compress three pages into one, ignore connector pinouts, and leave out the body builder data that tells you where to tap into the factory harness without setting off airbags or frying an ECU. FAQ

Does this manual cover the 3900FC chassis?

Yes. Section C is dedicated to the 3900 Forward Control Chassis, including its own ABS and hydraulic brake light circuits. It’s separate from the FBC section because the chassis layout is completely different.

Can I use this for a 1993 model?

No. This is the 1992 revision. International issued different schematic sets for each model year. The AE-2772 specification is for 1992 only. If you need a 1993, look for the correct year-specific factory manual.
