OEM Perkins 404C-22T 2006 Parts Catalog – 136 pages of part numbers, illustrations, and engine breakdown for exact component identification.
Description
Perkins 404C-22T 2006 Parts Catalog

Ordering the wrong part because some third-party site had a fuzzy diagram is a waste of a week and a half of your time. I’ve seen it happen – a tech pulls a part number off an aftermarket PDF, gets the atomiser delivery valve wrong, and the engine won’t hold rail pressure. That’s a lost customer and a stack of hours you can’t bill. Perkins 404C-22T 2006 Parts Catalog is the only document that matches the assembly that left the factory. It gives you the exact part number for every component on the 404C-22T – cylinder head, camshaft, crankshaft, injection pump – all laid out with actual Perkins drawings. No redrawn illustrations. No composite sketches. This is the print that came off the Perkins press in 2006, and it is the same one your local dealer uses to quote parts.
Engine Breakdown – Find Your Section
Open to page 5 and you see the full engine breakdown. The manual groups components by assembly code: Long Engine ACEH0829, Cylinder Block A6CH, Crankshaft & Bearings A6CH, Pistons & Rings A6CH, Cylinder Head Assembly B6CH, Rocker Shaft Assembly B6CH. Each of those sections has its own exploded diagram and a corresponding parts list with quantities and descriptions. Need the part number for the stop solenoid control? That’s under Timing Case C6MH, page 29. The fuel injection pump pages cover three different pump configurations – D6AH, D6MH, D6QH – because this engine was built with multiple injection options. If you don’t match your engine serial number to the right pump section, you’ll order the wrong governor or delivery valve. This catalog expects you to know your build list, and it gives you the exact parts for that build.
Crankshaft & Bearings A6CH – Page 15
The crankshaft page is where I’ve seen more ordering mistakes than anywhere else. The 404C-22T crankshaft comes in different undersize grades for bearing journals. This catalog shows the main bearing shell sets by size – standard, 0.25 mm, 0.50 mm – and the part number for each shell. You also get the thrust washer part numbers and the seal pack. The diagram is small and representational, but the part numbers are printed bold under each callout. That is the only thing that matters when you’re on the phone with the parts counter. Pair this catalog with the Perkins 400 Series 403C 404C Workshop Manual if you need torque values for the bearing cap bolts. The parts catalog doesn’t list torque specs – that’s not its job. It lists the part. The workshop manual tells you how to install it. Do not confuse the two.
Fuel Injection Pump: D6AH, D6MH, D6QH – Pages 43–59
Three separate injection pump assemblies exist for this engine. Each one has its own high-pressure fuel pipes and atomisers. The D6AH pump section (page 43) includes the pump body, drive gear, and timing pin. The D6MH section adds a different lift pump configuration, and the D6QH has a different governor arrangement. If you pull the part number for the delivery valve from the wrong section, you will get a valve that doesn’t match the pump calibration. I’ve watched a shop do exactly that on a 404C-22T powering a irrigation pump. They had to reorder three times. The Parts Index on page 128 can help cross-reference part numbers across sections – use it. Also, if you need to understand the diesel fuel system theory, read this Wikipedia article on diesel engines for background, but never substitute Wikipedia for the OEM diagram when buying parts.
3 Sections You Can’t Skip
First: Symbol Descriptions on page 9. Perkins uses symbols for service parts, optional parts, and parts supplied in kit form. If you don’t know what the triangle symbol means, you might buy a gasket kit that doesn’t include the O-ring. Second: How To Use Your Parts Book on page 4. It explains the build list number and how to read the front page of the catalog. Third: Parts Index pages 128–136. This is a alphabetical and numerical index of every part number in the book with a page reference. When you have a part number in hand but don’t know where it lives on the engine, this index saves twenty minutes of flipping. For a related engine with a different displacement, check the Perkins RH38009 2004 Parts Catalog – OEM Factory Specs – same format but for the RH38009 block.
Is This Manual Just a Parts List?
It is a parts list, but it is the correct parts list. Many aftermarket catalogs combine multiple engine families into one book and tell you “check your serial number.” This Perkins catalog is specific to the 404C-22T production from August 31, 2006. The page 1 warning states that information was correct at time of printing and may change – that is a legal disclaimer, not a sign of inaccuracy. You still call your local Perkins outlet before buying because supersessions happen, but the base part numbers are the ones that came on the engine. The catalog covers the long engine, cylinder block, pistons and rings, cylinder head assembly, rocker shaft, timing case (both C6MH and C6VH variants), camshaft and gears, and all the fuel system components. It is 136 pages of pure part identification with zero generic advice. If you need a parts catalog for the older D3.152, see Perkins D3.152 2009 Parts Catalog – OEM Part Numbers and Diagrams.
Track Down Part Numbers Fast
Keep this catalog open on your workbench next to the engine. When you need the camshaft thrust plate, turn to Camshaft & Gears C6MH page 31. The illustration shows the camshaft gear and thrust plate assembly. The callout number 10 points to the plate, and the parts list below gives the part number, quantity, and description. No cross-referencing to a separate table. Everything is on one spread. The only thing you need to watch is the engine variant – both C6MH and C6VH timing cases are covered, so make sure you look at the right page based on your engine’s build list. If you’re new to Perkins engines, this Wikipedia article on diesel engines explains the four-stroke cycle, but that is background, not a substitute for this parts book.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Does this catalog include torque specs and repair procedures?
- No. It is a parts catalog. It lists part numbers and shows exploded diagrams. For torque values and repair steps you need the engine service manual – the Perkins 400 Series 403C 404C Workshop Manual is the correct companion.
- What if my engine serial number is not on the front page?
- On page 4, Perkins tells you to quote your build list and engine serial number when contacting them. If your serial number isn’t listed, your engine may have been built after this edition. Contact Perkins with the serial number.
- Can I use this to order parts for a 404C-22 that is not a -22T?
- No. This catalog is specifically for the 404C-22T turbocharged variant. Non-turbo engines use different pistons, injection pump, and gasket set. Using this catalog for a non-turbo will give you wrong part numbers.
- How many pages does the Parts Index cover?
- Pages 128 through 136 contain the Parts Index. That is 9 pages of part number cross-reference.
Stop ordering parts blind. Access the Factory Manual and get the part numbers that match your engine assembly. No more returning wrong gaskets or waiting a week for the correct injector. The Perkins 404C-22T Parts Catalog puts the OEM drawing on your screen. Access the Factory Manual now.
