Bobcat S330 2008 Service Manual – OEM Factory Repair Specs

Bobcat S330 2008 Service Manual cover - OEM factory repair manual for skid-steer loader

I’ve torqued more head bolts than most of you have had hot dinners. When I see a guy working on a Bobcat S330 hydraulic leak with a generic online PDF, I know he’s about to waste three hours. That’s why the Bobcat S330 2008 Service Manual – all 1,000 pages of it – belongs on your bench. This is the same book the dealer techs get, printed in U.S.A. in 2008, part number 6904887. It covers serial numbers A02011001 through A02059999 and A02111001 through A02159999. No reprints, no third-party nonsense. OEM factory specs only.

Read the OCR excerpt from page 1 yourself: “Never service the Bobcat Skid-Steer Loader without instructions.” That warning is there because this machine can kill you if you guess. The manual gives you the right way to lift the cab, block the loader, and support the lift arms. Skip those steps and you’re gambling with your spine.

Hydraulic System: More Than Just Schematics

The table of contents lists a full section on Hydraulic/Hydrostatic Schematics and System Information. That includes the glossary of symbols and a troubleshooting guide. You get disassembly and assembly procedures for lift, tilt, and Bob-Tach cylinders. The main relief valve testing and adjustment procedure is spelled out. If you’ve ever had a machine that won’t lift rated capacity, you’ll find the pressure setting steps here. Page numbers? You don’t need me to tell you where – the alphabetical index at the front points you straight to what you need.

Fire Prevention and Safety Protocols

Bobcat dedicated a whole section to Fire Prevention. It covers Maintenance, Operation, Electrical, Hydraulic System, Fueling, Starting, Spark Arrestor Exhaust System, Welding and Grinding, and Fire Extinguishers. The warning about exhaust fume leaks is clear: “Avoid exhaust fume leaks which can kill without warning.” That’s not lawyer-talk. That’s from the factory. If you’re welding or grinding on this machine, you need to read the instructions on toxic dust and ventilation. The manual doesn’t assume you know – it tells you.

Engine Lubrication and Cooling – Factory Specs

The Engine Lubrication System chapter gives you the oil chart, checking and adding procedures, and the filter replacement steps. The Engine Cooling System section covers cleaning, coolant replacement, and checking level. You get fuel specifications including biodiesel blend fuel. The fuel filter replacement and air purge procedure are in the Fuel System chapter. All of that is backed by the OEM engineering data – not some aftermarket writer’s guess.

Remote Start Tool Kit – MEL1563 Procedure

Maybe you need to start the loader from outside the cab for diagnostics. This manual has two remote start tool kit sections: the MEL1563 kit and the later 6689779 kit. It includes the service tool harness control (MEL1565) and communicator (MEL1566) plus the exact remote start procedure. If you’ve ever tried to jumper terminals on a BICS-equipped machine without the right steps, you know how easy it is to lock out the controller. The factory procedure prevents that.

Does This Manual Cover the Electrical System?

Yes. Under Fire Prevention there’s an Electrical subsection that covers battery safety, wiring precautions, and arc/spark avoidance. But the manual also includes Electrical system coverage throughout – from the Bobcat Interlock Control System (BICS) to the cab door sensor, the operator cab raise/lower electrical connections, and the spark arrestor exhaust system. The 1,000 pages include schematics and component locations. You get the real wiring diagrams, not a redrawn version missing a ground.

If you’re working on a related machine, check the Bobcat S175 2008 Service Manual – OEM Factory Repair Specs or the Bobcat S185 2008 Service Manual – 998 Pages of Factory Specs. Both are from the same factory source.

For general reference on drive system principles, the Manual Transmission and Manual Transmission articles on external sites provide background, but nothing replaces the actual loader manual.

Is this manual the same as the one the dealer uses?
Yes. It’s the dealer-copy print from Bobcat Company, 2008. Same part number, same content.
What torque specs are included?
The manual contains torque values for wheel nuts, hydraulic fittings, engine fasteners, and all critical joints. The service schedule and each cylinder assembly section list the numbers. You won’t find a single bolt spec left out.
Can I use this for the Bobcat S175 or S185?
No. The S330 has different serial number ranges, hydraulic pressures, and a different engine. Use the correct manual for your model – the S175 and S185 manuals are separate products on this site.
Does it include wiring diagrams?
Yes. Electrical system diagrams are embedded in the hydraulic/hydrostatic schematics and the BICS sections. You get full component mapping and connector pin-outs.
