Page 5 shows the index for Chassis Group 2/2, including Suspension and Chassis Frame. If you’re doing a brake job, you need the correct torque for the chamber mounting bolts. It’s in there. The brake section includes detailed bleeding procedures for hydraulic systems, air dryer replacement intervals, and composite brake shoe wear limits. For the suspension, the manual gives you the exact tightening sequence for the spring U-bolts – a step many aftermarket manuals skip. Without that sequence, you can warp the spring seat. The chassis frame section covers rivet replacement and frame rail inspection. All of this is specific to the RB 14 series. That’s why a factory manual is non-negotiable.
Hino RB 14 Workshop Manual – Why OEM Documentation is Critical
Aftermarket manuals leave out critical details. I’ve seen techs use generic torque values and snap fasteners. This manual comes direct from Hino Motors, Ltd. Printed in Japan in December 1986. It’s the same book the dealership used. The Electrical Equipment section covers wiring diagrams, component locations, and testing procedures for the bus’s electrical system. Without that, you’re chasing shorts with a test light. The manual also includes the Recommended Lubricant section – which fluid goes where. Don’t guess. Use the factory specs.
Electrical Equipment and Recommended Lubricant: Torque and Specs
Page 5 shows the Electrical Equipment chapter is included. The manual covers the entire bus electrical system – from battery and starting circuits to lighting and accessories. For the transmission, clutch, and brake systems, every fastener has a specified torque. The Differential Carrier section gives pinion bearing preload and ring gear backlash. - No, the foreword states engine service requires a separate manual (W04C-T engine reference).
