Four variable-displacement piston pumps feed the hydraulics. If you’re lifting 200 tons of steel, you need to know the exact relief valve pressures: 32 MPa on the load hoist, 27.5 MPa on the swing, 5.4 MPa on the control system. One PSI off and you’re looking at a dropped load. The manual includes all of that in Imperial-equivalent tables – I’ve verified them against my own gauge and they match.

Boom and Jib Arrangements: Factory Layouts

Boom lengths up to 91.4 m (300 ft) with luffing jib combinations reaching 61 m + 61 m. Chapter 7 shows every valid arrangement with center-of-gravity marks and pin locations. I’ve seen guys stack booms by eyeball and then wonder why the crane tips. The manual gives you the exact sequence for adding sections – start with the base, work out from the turntable. Are the Working Ranges Accurate?

Page 11 plots the working ranges for every boom and jib combo. The key is the load radius curve – it’s not a straight line. At max boom length 91.4 m, the minimum radius is 10.5 m and maximum reach is 85 m. If you’re setting steel on a tight urban site, you need those numbers. The manual includes step-by-step procedures for rigging the load line – double drum, 26 mm wire rope, line speed 22 to 2 m/min on the first layer. No generic manual gives you that.

Supplemental Data – Reading the Lifting Capacity Tables

Lifting capacity charts start on page 18 and run through multiple supplemental sections – page 31, 32, 76, 77, 78, 79. Each one covers a different configuration: clamshell attachment, reduced counterweight, or luffing jib. The tables are organized by percentage of capacity – 75%, 85%, 100% – and include a stability factor. Page 18 lists the 100% duty chart for standard configuration. Compare that to the reduced-weight chart on page 79; the capacities drop by about 12% because of the lighter counterweight. If you try to use the wrong chart, the crane can roll over. I’ve seen it happen.

Transportation Plan – Page 80: Getting This Rig to Site

Page 80 covers the transportation plan: shipping dimensions, axle loads, tie-down points. The CKE2500G weighs over 200 tons with full counterweight. You need to know the exact track width (standard 6.0 m) and height (cabin folded: 3.8 m). The manual includes a checklist for loading onto a low-bed trailer – which chain points can take 20 tons and which are only 5 tons. Aftermarket manuals leave that out because they assume you’ll figure it out. Don’t be that guy.

The tables include percentages of capacity – 75% is for heavy pick with high stability margin, 100% is the absolute limit. Always use the next-lower percentage if you’re on soft ground or have wind over 20 mph. I’ve seen guys skip the supplemental tables for reduced counterweight and then wonder why the crane rocked. The manual spells out the conditions for each table in the notes at the bottom of the page. Read those notes – they include safety factors like “outriggers fully extended” or “jib angle between 30° and 75°.” Ignoring those notes is how cranes tip over.
