Description
FIAT Kobelco CK1600, CKE1350 Workshop Manual – 584 Pages of OEM Factory Data

You’re elbow-deep in a CK1600 hydraulic leak and the aftermarket PDF says “torque to spec” but doesn’t tell you which spec. I’ve been there. That’s why this FIAT Kobelco CK1600, CKE1350 Workshop Manual is the only thing I’d trust on the bench. 584 pages of Kobelco’s own factory documentation – not a reprint, not a third-party guess. This is the same book that rolled off the line with the machine.
Hydraulic Circuit Breakdown – 6 Pumps, 3 Pages of Oil Flow
Section 5 digs into the full hydraulic system. You get the location of every main component, the hydraulic circuit diagrams, and the oil flow from each of the six pumps. Page 5.2.1 shows the complete circuit layout. Need to know which line goes to the No.5 control pump? It’s in the schematic. The manual also covers valve disassembly and reassembly – no guesswork. I’ve seen guys swap a relief valve without checking the spring free length and end up with a boom that drifts. Kobelco includes those specs.
Torque Specs – Section 3.1 with Metric and Inch Threads
Section 3.1 gives you tightening torque for capscrews and nuts in metric coarse, metric fine, UNC, and UNF. Also has torque values for hydraulic fittings. Don’t trust the universal chart from your toolbox drawer – the factory spec accounts for thread pitch, grade, and application. On a crane where a loose bolt can drop a load, you need the right number. The manual also includes a conversion table (millimeter to inch, meter to foot) in section 3.3. No math errors.
Hoist System Free Fall Adjustment – Section 6
The hoist system chapter covers the drum lock, winch assembly, brake pedal adjustment, and bleeding air from the brake circuit. Section 6.2 explains the hydraulic schematic for lifting, holding, powered lowering, and free fall. If you’re dealing with a CKE1350 that drops the load faster than it should, the free fall acceleration procedure is on the page. I’ve had to fix a misadjusted drum lock on a rental unit – this manual saved me three hours of phone calls to the dealer.
Electric System Wiring – Section 10
Section 10 gives you the full electrical wiring schematic, a connector list, and the arrangement of electrical parts in the cab and right deck. No aftermarket wiring diagram that fades to gray after two weeks. This is the factory sheet. If you’re chasing a no-start on a CK1600, you can trace the circuit from the battery to the starter relay. The connector list includes part numbers – you can order the exact harness connector instead of butchering it with butt splices.
Audience Fit – Who Should Buy This?
If you own a CK1600 or CKE1350 backhoe loader and do your own maintenance, this manual is necessary. Not optional. Fleet managers need it to keep techs from wasting time. Mobile mechanics who travel to job sites should have the PDF on a tablet. Beginners? You’ll need some mechanical sense, but the step-by-step removal and re-installation procedures in sections 4.2 and 4.3 walk you through engine and pump drive work. Safety section at the front covers lifting, blocking, and hazard awareness – read it before you touch the machine.
Source Validity – OEM vs Aftermarket
I won’t put an aftermarket manual on the same shelf as this one. Kobelco’s own book code S5GN00003ZE08 ties to specific machine serial numbers from GN03-02001 and GN03-02002. The manual covers models from 2006 through 2007 revisions. Aftermarket reprints often skip the performance standards and test procedures in section 2.2 – the part that tells you how to measure operating speed and hydraulic pressure at specific points. Without that, you’re just turning wrenches blind. Get the real thing.
- Does this manual cover both the CK1600 and CKE1350?
- Yes. The first section has separate spec pages for each model, including outside dimensions, weight of each part, and stability calculations. The rest of the manual applies to both unless noted.
- What about the free fall option on the hoist?
- Section 6.4.3 covers the winch assembly with free fall (optional). It includes the assembly drawing and adjustment steps for the drum lock. The manual also explains free fall acceleration in 6.2.6 – that’s the part most aftermarket docs skip. If your machine has the free fall option, you need this chapter.
Look, I don’t sell manuals for a living – I fix machines. But when a dude rolls into my shop with a CKE1350 that’s lost its swing brake, I reach for the factory book. This one from AutoRepairManuals is the same binder Kobelco shipped with the crane. No condensed version, no missing pages. You get all 584 pages. If you work on these machines, you need this. Access the Factory Manual and keep it on your phone, tablet, or laptop. Print the torque charts and tape them to your toolbox. You’ll thank me the first time you pull a hydraulic fitting without snapping a line.
