Description
Dynapac SD2550CS, SD2550C Operators Manual – 430 Pages of Factory Specs

I’ve been turning wrenches for 28 years – ASE Master since ’94 – and I’ve seen guys try to run a paver off a photocopied manual from some forum. That’s how you blow a hydrostat before lunch. This Dynapac SD2550CS, SD2550C Operators Manual is the real thing: 430 pages of OEM content, straight from Dynapac/Atlas Copco. If you’re maintaining either the SD2550C (typ 894) or the SD2550CS (typ 895), you need the exact specs for weights, hydraulic pressures, and allowed slope angles. Aftermarket docs leave those out. This one puts them on page 10–15.
Why a Factory Operators Manual Beats a PDF from Some Reseller
I’ve seen aftermarket “manuals” that copy the table of contents but replace torque charts with placeholder text. That’s not a manual – that’s a lawsuit waiting to happen. This one is the original English document from Dynapac (file name Dynapac_SD2550C-SD2550CS_Operators_Manual_en-26131018104.pdf). It includes the CE Declaration of Conformity (page 8), guarantee conditions (page 8), and a full section on residual risks (page 9). Every torque spec, every fluid capacity, every hydraulic pressure came off the Dynapac line. If you’re a shop owner or a municipal fleet mechanic, you don’t have time to guess. You need the table on page 15 that gives the travel drive specs for both models. That’s what this gives you.
7 Systems Covered – What’s Inside This Operators Manual
Don’t mistake “operators manual” for a quick reference card. This thing covers the whole machine section by section: General safety instructions (page 2) with laws, guidelines, accident prevention. Vehicle description (Section B) includes danger zones, safety devices, and technical data for both SD2550C and SD2550CS. You get dimensions in mm, allowed angle of rise and slope, weights (SD2550C page 12, SD2550CS page 12), performance data (page 13–14), engine specs (page 15), hydraulic system (page 15), material compartment (hopper, page 16), material transfer, travel drive/traction unit – the whole works. There’s even a chapter on Sensibly predictable incorrect usage (page 10) that tells you what not to do. That’s the kind of detail that keeps a paver running for 10,000 hours instead of 1,000.
Does This Manual Cover Both the SD2550C and SD2550CS?
Yes – and it separates the data clearly. The table of contents lists weights for SD2550C in section 5.4 and SD2550CS in 5.5. Performance data is split between page 13 (SD2550C) and page 14 (SD2550CS). The engine specs are separate: section 5.9 for SD2550C, 5.10 for SD2550CS. If you’re working on the CS model with the different screed setup, you’ll find the allowed angle of rise and slope values on page 11 – those are model-specific. Don’t mix them up. I’ve seen a guy set a screed angle from the wrong manual and make a mess of a highway overlay. Use the right table.
Safety Warnings and Protective Equipment – Page 2–5
You’d think “operators manual” would skip the safety lecture. This one doesn’t. It opens with 10 pages of safety – laws, accident prevention regulations, prohibitive symbols (page 4), protective equipment (page 5). Fire prevention, environmental protection, additional information. Every warning in the manual uses the standard hazard symbols that OSHA and MSHA recognize. If you’re training a new operator, have them read section 1.1 through 1.7 before they touch the ignition. I keep a copy in the break room for my guys to review. Works better than a safety meeting.
Technical Data – Where to Find the Numbers That Matter
Need the hydraulic system specs? Page 15. Engine data for the SD2550C? Section 5.9. Travel drive/traction unit – section 5.8. Material compartment (hopper) capacities – page 16. All dimensions in millimeters – if you’re used to inches, convert using a calculator. The manual doesn’t guess. It gives you permissible approach angles (page 11) and allowed slope angles (page 11) so you don’t roll the machine. I’ve seen a guy ignore those numbers and put a paver on a grade that the book says is too steep. He was lucky he only bent the auger. This is the kind of data that keeps a $200,000 machine out of the ditch.
Source Authenticity – OEM, Not Reprinted
This is the original Dynapac document, not a scan of a scan. The file name ends in .pdf, it’s 430 pages, and it comes from Atlas Copco’s official publications. If you want the aftermarket junk, you know where to find it. But if you’re paying for a manual, get the one that includes the CE identification (page 8) and the factory guarantee conditions (page 8). The only thing worse than a wrong torque spec is a missing torque spec. This manual has them all.

- Can I use this manual for the SD2550C if I have an SD2550CS?
- Yes. The manual covers both models with separate sections for weights, performance, and engine data. Just make sure you’re reading the SD2550CS tables when working on the CS. Page 14 has the CS performance data; page 13 is for the C.
- Does this manual include step-by-step repair procedures like engine overhaul?
- This is an operators manual, not a service manual. It covers daily operation, safety, maintenance, and technical data. For major repairs like engine removal or transmission rebuild, you’ll need the service manual. The operators manual gives you the specs – torque values, fluid capacities, hydraulic pressures – that you need before you start a repair. You can reference the parts catalogs linked above for exploded views.
You want to run your paver by the book – the factory book. Access the factory manual now and get the same specs that Dynapac’s own technicians use. No guesswork, no aftermarket reprints – just 430 pages of OEM data for your SD2550C or SD2550CS.
