Safety Regulations: Not a Suggestion

Do not skip the break-in procedure in 9.4 — it matches the break-in in section 4.2 for new engines. Running a fresh rebuild hard without the prescribed load steps is a fast way to scuff pistons. Section 7.2 lists common problems: hard starting, low power, excessive smoke, overheating. Each symptom gets a list of causes and the remedy references back to earlier sections. Also, the periodic inspection cycle in 7.1 gives intervals for every check from daily to every 2000 hours. Print that page out and tape it to the engine panel.
