The first 50-100 hour service on page 153 is critical for new equipment. If you don’t retorque the head bolts after that break-in, you’re asking for a gasket failure. Follow these schedules and the truck will run for thousands of hours. Skip them and you’ll be pulling a transmission.

Capacity Charts: Don’t Guess the Load

Pages 39 and 41 show the capacity charts – standard and with side shifter. If you overload this truck, you’ll tip it. Page 21 explains tipover avoidance. The manual is blunt about it. I’ve seen the aftermath of a tipover. Not pretty. Use the chart, stay within limits. The operator’s warning and identification plate (page 55) confirms the model you’re working on.

Operator Restraint System: It’s Not A Suggestion

Page 17 covers the operator restraint system. Page 28 tells you how to survive a tipover if you’re wearing it. That’s not fluff – that’s life-saving information. What torque specs are provided?

Torque values are given on page 128 for wheel nuts, engine mounts, and other critical fasteners.
