Description
Doosan D24NAP 2013 Operators Manual – Factory OEM Maintenance for Marine Diesel

Aftermarket manuals leave you guessing on torque specs and assembly order. I’ve seen too many engines come in with stripped threads because someone followed a generic reprint. The Doosan D24NAP 2013 Operators Manual is the factory document – 272 pages of the exact procedures Doosan trains its own techs on. If you’re working on a D24NAP marine diesel, this is the only source you trust for specs that keep the engine together.
Engine Specifications and Performance – What the Factory Says
Chapter 3 lays out engine output, bore, stroke, and all the numbers that matter. You get the engine identification numbers – block, crank, piston, and head gasket engravings – so you know which parts match your build. The isometric assembly drawings for each variant (DL02-LEE00, DL02-MDE00, etc.) show every bolt location. No photoshopped diagrams from a third party. These are the original drawings Doosan used in 2013.
Tightening Torque of Main Parts – Do Not Guess
Torque values live in Chapter 6, under “Tightening Torque.” There’s a table for main parts, another for general bolts, and a separate one for plug screws and hollow screws. You get the values in Nm – convert to ft-lb if that’s your preference, but the numbers come straight from the factory. I’ve torqued plenty of heads using these tables. They are correct.
Regular Inspection Table – General Conditions and Engine Oil
Chapter 4 gives you a timed schedule. Routine inspection, oil level checks, coolant concentration measurements – all with the required intervals. The oil capacity is listed right in the manual, along with the approved standards for engine oil and coolant. Air filter cleaning steps are in there too. Follow this table and you won’t miss a service point. The manual doesn’t assume you know the intervals – it prints them black and white.
Starting and Stopping the Engine – Operation and Management
Chapter 2 covers cold starts, break-in procedure, and winter operation. Doosan spells out exactly how long to let the glow plugs cycle before cranking. The break-in period specifies load limits for the first 50 hours. If you skip these steps on a fresh overhaul, you’ll glaze the rings. The manual saves you that mistake. It also covers emergency stops and what to do if the engine fails to start.
Cooling System and Lubrication System – Failure Diagnosis
Chapters 7 and 8 walk through water pump disassembly, thermostat testing, oil pump clearances, and filter replacement. There’s a failure diagnosis table for each system – common symptoms like overheating or low oil pressure linked to specific causes. You don’t throw parts at it. You check the thermostat opening temperature (listed), then the pump impeller condition. The assembly steps tell you which sealant to use and what torque to apply. That level of detail is why I keep a copy in my toolbox.
Why OEM Documentation Beats Aftermarket Reprints
This is the original Doosan file – not a scanned copy of a copy. The 272 pages are the same ones that shipped with the engine in 2013. Every specification, from the tightening torque of the cylinder head bolts to the recommended coolant type, comes from Doosan Infracore. I’ve compared it to aftermarket “reprints” that miss pages or use imperial values where the factory says metric. Don’t gamble with a $30,000 engine. Get the real manual.

- Does this manual cover the D24NAP engine only?
- Yes. This is the dedicated Operators Manual for the Doosan D24NAP marine diesel. It does not cover other models.
- What torque values are included?
- The manual gives tightening torque tables for main parts (cylinder head, connecting rod, main bearing), general bolts, plug screws, and hollow screws. Each table uses metric values (Nm). You also get assembly torque for the water pump, oil pump, and cooling system components. All values are OEM-specified, not converted approximations. If you need a specific value for a bolt that’s not in a standard table, the assembly instructions in Chapter 6 and Chapter 7 list the torque for every fastener during the step-by-step procedures. That means you never have to guess – you read the procedure for the part you’re installing, and the torque is right there.
Don’t risk a blown head gasket or a seized pump because you used a generic manual. Access the Factory Manual – the Doosan D24NAP 2013 Operators Manual – and keep your marine engine running on factory specs.
