Chrysler Concorde, Intrepid, LHS, New Yorker, Vision Parts Catalog (1993-1996) – OEM Factory Manual

Group 9B and 9C: 3.3L and 3.5L Engine Parts Breakdown

Both engines share the same LH platform, but the parts are different. Group 9B covers the 3.3L engine: cylinder head (Figure 9B-210), cylinder block (9B-310), crankshaft, piston, and torque converter (9B-410), camshaft and valves (9B-510), timing chain and cover (9B-610), engine oiling (9B-710), intake and exhaust manifold (9B-810), crankcase ventilation (9B-910), and engine mounts (9B-1010). Group 9C does the same for the 3.5L. Need a water pump for a 1996 Vision? Those are listed in Group 7 Cooling under Figure 7-205 – but you must match engine size. The catalog separates every figure by engine displacement. No guesswork. The illustrations show bolt locations, gasket shapes, and torque converter bolt patterns. Front Suspension and Drive Shafts: Figure 2-110 and 2-210

Front suspension on these LH cars uses a MacPherson strut design. Figure 2-110 shows the complete front suspension for LH-body: control arms, ball joints, sway bar links, strut assemblies. Figure 2-210 covers the front drive shafts (CV axles). If you’re replacing an axle on a 1994 Concorde, the catalog lists both left and right part numbers separately. It also notes right-hand and left-hand parts – a detail aftermarket catalogs often ignore. I’ve had to return two axles because the aftermarket listed “one size fits all” when the LH-body uses different lengths for ABS and non-ABS cars. The factory catalog shows the correct part number for each configuration.

Brake System Parts: From Parking Brake to ABS Hydraulic Unit

Group 4 covers the parking brake lever assembly and cables (Figure 4-110). Group 5 covers the service brakes: front brakes (Figure 5-110), rear brakes with drum (5-205) and with disc (5-210), power brake booster (5-310), anti-lock brake hydraulic control unit (5-410), master cylinder with proportioning valve (5-420), brake lines and hoses (5-510), and brake pedal (5-610). The ABS unit on these cars is notorious for valve block failures. The parts catalog gives you the exact part number for the hydraulic control unit – no need to pull the unit and decode a faded sticker. It also lists the proportioning valve separately. If you’re replacing brake lines, the line routing diagrams in Figure 5-510 show the factory bends. Use those to bend your own lines instead of buying a pre-formed set that may not match.

Electrical System Components: Starter, Alternator, Sensors, and Wiring

Group 8 covers the entire electrical system: starter motor (Figure 8-105), alternator (8-205), modules (8-405), relays (8-505), sensors (8-605), single board engine controller – the PCM (8-705), switches (8-805), horns (8-905), battery tray (8-1005), front and rear lamps (8-1105, 8-1107), cargo/dome/courtesy lamps (8-1110), bulbs (8-1115), engine wiring (8-1205), headlamp-to-dash wiring (8-1305), instrument panel wiring (8-1405), body and accessory wiring (8-1505), wiring repair packages (8-1605), and spark plugs, cables, and coil (8-1905). Group 8A covers the instrument panel cluster, radio, antenna, speakers, and console parts. If you’re diagnosing a no-start on a 1995 New Yorker, you can look up the PCM part number in Figure 8-705 and cross-reference with your VIN. Cooling System and Drive Belts: Group 7

Group 7 includes the radiator (Figure 7-105), water pump (7-205), coolant recovery system (7-305), drive pulleys for both 3.3L (7-405) and 3.5L (7-410), drive belts (7-505), transmission oil cooler (7-605), and the grille for New Yorker (7-710). The water pump part number differs between the two engines – the 3.5L pump has a different impeller design. The catalog shows both explicitly. Drive belt routing is shown in Figure 7-505 with the belt length and width listed. If you’re replacing a belt on a 1996 Intrepid, you can verify the correct part number without pulling the old one off first.
