Chrysler Aspen Technical Manual – 2009 Factory OEM Specs for the SUV

2009 Chrysler Aspen Technical Manual cover showing factory diagrams and torque specs

You’ve got a 2009 Chrysler Aspen in the bay, the owner’s complaining about a driveline noise, or maybe the ABS light is on. You grab a third-party manual and find torque values that don’t match the factory spec. I’ve seen it a hundred times. That’s why the Chrysler Aspen Technical Manual from AutoRepairManuals is the only paper I trust. It’s 411 pages of factory documentation, not some reprint.

VIN Decoding on Page 1 – Know What You’re Working On

Page 1 of this manual gives you the full VIN plate decoding. Position 5 tells you if it’s a 4×2 or 4×4. Position 8 tells you the engine – 4.7L or 5.7L. Don’t guess which transmission or axle ratio you have. Decode it here.

Group 1 MoPar Accessories – Wiring and Accessory Kits

The manual covers all MoPar accessories: trailer tow wiring (4-way and 7-way), off-road wiring kits, backup camera, iPod integration. If you’re installing a hitch, the wiring package is right there in Fig. 1-242 and 1-243. Don’t splice random wires – use the factory pinout.

Front Suspension and Axle Assembly – Corporate 205 MM Front Axle

Group 2 covers front suspension, strut, cradle, stabilizer bar. Group 003DJD gives you the front axle assembly – the Corporate 205 MM differential. Exploded views and part numbers. Need to know the drive shaft? Fig. 003DJD-610.

Two Rear Axle Configurations – 210 MM and 235 MM

Group 003DRA covers the Corporate 210 MM rear axle; Group 003DRB covers the 235 MM version. Each section includes the axle assembly, housing, vent, differential, and shafts. If you’re swapping rear gears or replacing axle bearings, this is where you find the factory procedure.

Brake System – Front Disc, Rear Disc, and Park Brake

Group 5: brakes. Front brakes, rear disc, power brake booster, master cylinder, HCU, brake tubes and hoses, parking brake. Includes both standard and power adjustable brake pedals. If you’re replacing the HCU, the tube routing is in Fig. 5-510 and 5-520.

Cooling System – Radiator, Water Pump, Thermostat

Group 7 covers the cooling system: radiator, water pump, thermostat. The manual shows multiple variant figures (Fig. 7-105, 7-110, etc.) because the Aspen had different options. Don’t rely on a generic diagram – use these factory drawings.

Factory OEM Specs: The Only Source I Trust

I’ve seen too many aftermarket manuals with torque specs that are off by 10 ft-lbs. That’s a blown head gasket or a stripped bolt. This manual comes from the factory. No one re-typeset the values. What you see is what Chrysler put in the dealer tech’s hands. For a Manual Transmission related job, you need the exact clutch and flywheel torque. This manual has it. If you’re doing a transmission swap on any vehicle, grab a dedicated Manual Transmission guide for the gearbox side.

Does this manual cover the 2009 Chrysler Aspen with the 5.7L HEMI?
Yes, both 4.7L and 5.7L.
Does it include torque specs for the suspension?
Yes. The suspension section (Group 2) has factory torque values for strut and stabilizer bar.
I’m installing a trailer hitch. What information is in the manual for the wiring?
Group 1 covers MoPar Accessories including trailer tow wiring packages. Fig. 1-242 shows the 4-way wiring, Fig. 1-243 shows the 7-way wiring. The manual also includes the off-road wiring kit (Fig. 1-264) and the backup camera installation (Fig. 1-118). If you need to tap into the factory harness, these diagrams are essential – they show you the exact connector pinouts and wire colors. Don’t guess. Use the factory spec.
Can I use this manual for a 2008 Chrysler Aspen?
The manual is specifically for the 2009 model year, but many components are similar. We also have the Chrysler Aspen 2008 Technical Manual – Factory OEM Specs available.
