If you are pulling a G4ED-GSL 1.6 into your bay for an electrical gremlin, you need the Unknown G4ED-GSL Technical Manual on your bench. Not a scanned aftermarket pamphlet that guesses at coil resistance values. Not a forum post from a guy who “fixed” his by swapping parts until it ran. This is a 40-page factory-issue document covering the engine electrical system from the battery terminals to the spark gap. I have torqued enough crank bolts to know that when the troubleshooting tree on page EE-4 says check charge pressure before you condemn the alternator, you check charge pressure. Skip that step and you waste an hour and a customer’s good will. This is a genuine factory-sourced technical manual, not a reprint from a third party that rescans and loses resolution. You get the original PDF with the original page numbers, notes, and illustration clarity. I have seen aftermarket versions swap the ignition coil pinout – they show the primary wire on terminal 2 when the factory manual clearly says terminal 1. An error like that costs you a fried ECU. The 570 section is there because that was the factory-recommended tool when the manual was published – ignore it if you have modern gear, but do not ignore the underlying electrical values.
