The base engine section (2-2 and 2-3b) applies. Either way, the wiring diagrams include both turbo and non-turbo harness variations. Look for the Bulkhead wiring harness (Turbo Model) sub-section. What Are the Required Tools?

Section 1-6 lists special tools – but for the home garage guy, you need: a quality torque wrench (1/2-drive for head bolts, 3/8-drive for smaller fasteners), a set of metric hex sockets, a compression tester, a fuel pressure gauge, and a scan tool that reads Subaru’s select monitor protocol. The manual tells you when to use Subaru tool #499587000 for the camshaft oil seal install – but you can improvise with a seal driver if you’re careful.
