Pel-job TB-1400EX Parts Catalog – What a Mechanic Actually Needs

Spent half a shift last week chasing a part number for a TB-1400EX track tensioner because some online parts diagram had the bolt length wrong. Three bolts. One wrong thread pitch. Hour of my life gone. That’s why Pel-job TB-1400EX Parts Catalog from a factory print stays on my bench. Not a scan of a scan, not a third-party re-draw – the same 66 pages the dealer’s parts counter uses. If you’re wrenching on one of these compact excavators and you don’t have this, you’re ordering blind.

Pel-job TB-1400EX Parts Catalog factory cover, 66 pages, OEM exploded diagrams

Lower Machine: Track, Roller, and Gearbox Breakdown

Starts where the machine meets the ground. Fig. 01 through Fig. 09 cover lower frame, track shoe, carrier roller, track roller, front idler, track tension assembly, track gearbox, blade, and lower piping. Each fig has OEM part numbers, not “equivalent” substitutions. Need the carrier roller seal? Fig. 03. The track tension spring? Fig. 06. The hydraulic line routing for the lower frame? Fig. 09. You get the actual Pel-job drawing with callouts – no guessing which bracket goes where.

Engine & Controls: Where Most Mistakes Happen

Fig. 16 covers the engine and all its accessories – starter, alternator, fuel injection lines. If you’re swapping a water pump or chasing an oil leak, you see every clip, gasket, and bolt in the assembly order. Fig. 17 and Fig. 18 show the control box and engine control linkage. These are the sections where aftermarket catalogs drop a generic “engine group” and you end up with the wrong injector return line. Not here. Every part number ties back to the Pel-job factory revision – Mdf.NO. A 2769 stamped on every page.

3 Reasons to Use OEM Documentation for Track and Hydraulic Parts

  • Fig. 02 track shoe – one drawing shows bolt torque sequence for the shoe bolts. Aftermarket lists “tighten securely.” Not good enough when you’re under a 5-ton machine.
  • Fig. 07 track gearbox – includes both input and output seal part numbers. Generic catalogs often skip the output seal.
  • Fig. 24 pump drive main – shows the drive coupler and pilot line fittings. Miss one O-ring spec and you’re bleeding hydro fluid all over the jobsite.

Slew, Turntable, and Hydraulic Cylinder Coverage

Upper machine sections are split across four groups. Fig. 10 slew gearbox, Fig. 11 turntable, and Figs. 12-15 control levers. Then Fig. 19 electricals – includes the harness routing diagram with connector locations. If you’re chasing a no-start, that’s where you look. Hydraulic devices start at Fig. 37 swivel joint, run through Fig. 44 blade cylinder, Fig. 46 traction motor, and Fig. 48 main hydraulic pump. Every cylinder (boom, arm, bucket, blade, swing) has its own fig with seal kit part numbers and bore/stroke data. That’s the difference between ordering a $200 seal kit and buying a whole cylinder.

FAQ

Does this catalog include torque specs for the track bolts?
Track bolt torque is listed in Fig. 02’s part callout – the manual doesn’t print a separate torque chart, but the part number for the bolt includes the grade marking. For actual tightening values you need the service manual. The parts catalog gives you the correct fastener, not the torque value.
Does it cover the cabin and heater?
Yes.

What You Get: 66 Pages, No Reprint Junk

This is a factory-original parts catalog in PDF form, scanned from the Pel-job master document. Pages include Fig. 35 stickers (with region-specific decal part numbers for U.S., Sweden, England, etc.), Fig. 50 ejector bucket, Fig. 52 canopy, and Fig. 54 seat options. The index on page 1-2 lists every fig with revision codes – circles and triangles showing which drawings are new or retouched. That level of detail tells you the origin. Aftermarket houses can’t duplicate that. If you need a part for the TB-1400EX and you’re tired of chasing dead ends, access the factory manual.
