Control Module – 4 Zone and Rear Control Unit
The 4-zone system runs two separate control modules: the front N93/1 and the rear N93/2. If you’re diagnosing a rear temperature offset that’s more than 4°F, check the rear control unit wiring under the center console. I’ve seen melted connectors from decades-old leaves blocking the coolant pump. Humidity and Multi-Function Sensors
The humidity sensor (B31/2) is mounted inside the windshield base, and the multi-function sensor (B31) combines humidity, temperature, and pressure. If you get a code for implausible humidity, don’t replace the sensor – check the cabin filter duct for blockage first. I’ve fixed three cars that way. The manual’s wiring diagrams show the exact pinouts; aftermarket copies often flip the ground and signal pins.
OEM Source Validation: Why Factory Specs Matter
