Komatsu CK35-1 2006 Service Manual – What a Shop Floor Needs

Komatsu CK35-1 2006 Service Manual cover page with OEM part number CEBM017500

You are holding a 304-page factory document from Komatsu, printed in July 2006. Not a reprint, not a third-party scan. A direct OEM shop manual for the CK35-1 compact track loader. I have seen too many techs chase electrical ghosts because they used a generic aftermarket diagram. This one gives you the real wiring — every circuit, every harness color code, every splice. The Komatsu CK35-1 2006 Service Manual is the only source I trust when I need to bench-bleed a hydraulic pump or set valve clearance on a job site.

Torque Specs and Fluid Capacities – From the STANDARD TIGHTENING TORQUE Section

Page 00-2 lists the chapters: 10 Structure and Function, 20 Testing and Adjusting, 30 Removal and Installation, 40 Maintenance Standard, and 90 Other. But what matters on a Monday morning is the STANDARD TIGHTENING TORQUE table right after hoisting instructions. Need bolt torque for a cylinder head? That table covers all standard fasteners in imperial foot-pounds. I do not touch a wrench without verifying the torque spec against this manual. Hydraulic fitting torque? Same page. You will not find these numbers in a Chilton. Komatsu defines the tightening sequence and the angle where applicable — for example, the track tensioner cylinder and bumper spring assembly. Do not guess; you will strip threads or snap a bolt.

Hydraulic Circuit Diagrams – Six Variants, One Manual

This Service Manual breaks down every hydraulic circuit the CK35-1 leaves the factory with: Standard, Float, Float + Pattern Change, High-Flow, Super High-Flow, and Super High-Flow / Pattern Change. Each has its own subsection under 10 Structure and Function. If you are swapping a control valve or replacing a solenoid valve group (ST1, ST2, ST3), the diagrams show the exact port mapping. The CLSS (Closed Loop Sensing System) section alone is worth the access. I have used it to troubleshoot an anti engine-stall control valve (AS Valve) that was dumping charge pressure. Without the factory schematic, you would be swapping pumps.

7 Systems Covered – Engine, Electrical, Hydraulics, Track, and More

Power train, frame, track tensioner idler wheel, lower idler roller, rear idler roller — all get dedicated pages. The electrical diagrams alone span three sections: Engine Line (1/3 to 3/3), Frame Line Standard and Optional, and Cabin Line Standard and Optional (1/7 to 7/7). Want to trace the starting motor circuit? 30 REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION gives you step-by-step removal and installation for the starter, alternator, injectors, valve cover, muffler, and even the entire cab. Each procedure includes the required tool list and safety warnings. I tell my junior guys: never start a removal without reading the PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN WHILE WORKING section first.

Does This Manual Cover the Engine and Cylinder Work?

Check chapter 20 TESTING AND ADJUSTMENTS. You will find ADJUSTMENT OF VALVE CLEARANCE, MEASUREMENT OF THE COMPRESSION PRESSURE, and CHECKING ENGINE OIL PRESSURE. If you are rebuilding a cylinder head, the NORMAL OR STANDARD TECHNICAL DATA table lists compression specs and tolerances. The manual also covers ADJUSTING THE STROKE OF THE ACCELERATOR CABLES and REGULATION OF PPC VALVES’ DRIVE PRESSURE. Everything a diesel engine needs — fuel injection timing, fan belt tension, injection timing. And yes, the torque values for head bolts are in the STANDARD TIGHTENING TORQUE section. Page numbers are given in the OCR; use the bookmark menu in the PDF to jump there fast.

Source Validity – Why OEM Beats Aftermarket

This is a genuine 2006 Komatsu publication, copyright DataKom Publishing Division, serial number range A40001 and up. It is the same manual Komatsu dealers use. Aftermarket manuals often omit the revised pages list — this one includes a REVISED PAGES table that marks every update with symbols (Q for add, q for replace). You can verify your manual is current by checking the revision marks. I have caught three separate torque spec updates in the 20 years I have been using factory manuals. Aftermarket reprints never track those changes. If you need a [Manual Transmission] reference for other machines, that is a separate document — this loader uses a hydrostatic drive, not a manual gearbox. But for the CK35-1, this is the only document you need.

FAQ

Can I use this manual for the CK30-1 model?
No. This is specific to the CK35-1 with serial number A40001 and up.
What about hydraulic pressure specs? Are they given in PSI or bar?
The TESTING AND ADJUSTMENTS chapter includes a section CONTROL AND REGULATION OF THE PRESSURES IN THE HYDRAULIC CIRCUITS. Komatsu provides both imperial (PSI) and metric (bar) values in the NORMAL OR STANDARD TECHNICAL DATA table. The charge circuit pressure for the HST is listed under CHARGE SAFETY VALVE. You will also find the pressure settings for the SUCTION SAFETY VALVE, the travel synchronization valve, and the PPC valve drive pressure. Each calibration point includes a tolerance range. Do not attempt to adjust without the special tool list — the manual specifies part numbers for the pressure gauge and adapter fittings. If you skip using the correct gauge, you will chase ghosts for two days. I have seen it happen. The bleeding procedure for hydraulic circuits (BLEEDING AIR FROM THE HYDRAULIC CIRCUITS) also requires you to follow a specific sequence or you will trap air in the CLSS line. That section tells you exactly which ports to crack and in what order.

I keep a copy of this manual on the tablet in bay 3. Every time I open it, I find something I would have missed — like the WEIGHT TABLE for lifting the cab, or the COATING MATERIALS list for thread locker. If you work on compact track loaders, you need the factory spec. Access the Factory Manual from AutoRepairManuals and keep it on your workbench. Your paycheck will thank you.
