Check Grounds Before Replacing Modules

Ground point locations are shown on page 22 of the manual – that is six specific ground studs in the engine bay, passenger compartment, and trunk. Can I use this for a 2003 S-Type?

This manual is labeled “2002.5” date of issue June 2002 and covers 2003 Model Year electrical systems per the cover. However, Jaguar made running changes during the 2002-2003 production. The 2003 model year S-Type used the same basic electrical architecture except for telematics updates. For absolute certainty, compare your vehicle VIN with the component index – if your car has the Telematics chapter (16) with a different module part number, you may need the later supplement. This manual covers the majority of 2003 S-Types, but check the relay location page (17) against your fuse box layout. If they match, you are good. If not, look for the 2004 revision.
