Haulotte B33-01-0104 2013 Operators Manual – Factory Specs for Aerial Work Platforms

If you’re running a Haulotte B33-01-0104 in your shop or on a job site and you don’t have the factory operator’s manual, you’re gambling with downtime and safety. I’ve seen too many lifts sidelined because someone guessed on a hydraulic pressure check or skipped the daily inspection list. This 108-page PDF is the exact document Haulotte intended to stay with the machine. It’s not a reprint or a third-party summary. It’s the OEM file, straight from the manufacturer, and it covers every safety advisory, control function, and maintenance interval you need to keep that boom lift running without surprises.

Page 2 of this 2013 Operators Manual spells out the legal responsibility: the manual is a permanent part of the aerial work platform and must stay with the machine. That includes the Proposition 65 warning for diesel exhaust. Page 7 starts the safety chapter with legends, before-operation checks, and drive safety. If you’ve ever had a near-miss because someone forgot to test the emergency stop, you understand why these pages matter.

Safety Procedures – Before Operation and During Operation

Chapter 1 of this Haulotte B33-01-0104 Operators Manual covers the full safety spectrum: legend of advisories, before-operation checks, during-operation rules, drive safety, fall protection, manual force limits, wind loading, and explosion hazard. That’s not generic advice. Those are Haulotte’s specific guidelines for this model. For example, the manual tells you the maximum manual force the platform can handle and the wind speed limits for safe operation. I’ve worked with guys who ignored wind loading and ended up with a tipped boom. Don’t be that guy. Read the chapter.

Specifications – Range of Motion and Fluid Capacities

The specs chapter (Section 2) includes range of motion, component specifications, and warranty procedures. While the manual doesn’t list every torque spec in a table, it gives you the operational limits you need to set up the machine correctly. If you’re doing any structural inspection or calibration, start here. Refer to page 2 for the warranty claims procedure – it’s not boilerplate, it’s Haulotte North America’s actual policy.

Operation – Ground and Platform Controls

Section 3 breaks down the ground (lower) control panel – battery condition indicator, engine start/choke/glow plug, emergency stop – and the platform (upper) control panel with joystick operation. It also covers manual brake release, manual boom operation, lifting procedures, and transporting the aerial work platform. The engine start procedure includes glow plug timing for cold starts. If you’ve ever had a diesel engine that won’t crank because the glow plug sequence was skipped, you’ll appreciate the specificity.

4 Equipment Maintenance – Daily, Weekly, Monthly Service Checks

Section 4 is where you’ll spend most of your time. It starts with battery recharge procedures, battery fault codes, then daily, weekly, monthly, and annual service checks. Each service level has a list of inspection points – hydraulic fluid level, tire condition, structural weld integrity, etc. The manual also includes motor drying instructions (critical if you pressure-wash the machine), leveling system calibration, overload protection calibration, manual outrigger retraction, and a hydraulic pressure gauge section. The error code definitions for controls and motor controller are in this chapter too. That’s the part that saves you hours when a fault light comes on.

Error Code Definitions – Controls and Motor Controller

When the platform stops responding and the display throws a code, you don’t want to guess. The manual lists error codes for the control system and the motor controller, with definitions and likely causes. I’ve seen techs swap out a joystick because they didn’t have the code chart. Get the chart. Those pages are worth the price of the manual by themselves.

Cylinder Replacement – Outrigger Cylinder

Section 5 covers outrigger cylinder replacement. It’s a short section but it gives you the procedure for removing and installing the cylinder. If you’re rebuilding a unit that’s been sitting, this is the guidance you need to avoid bending a rod or stripping a fitting. Hydraulic cylinder work is expensive – do it with the factory steps.

Haulotte B33-01-0104 2013 Operators Manual cover page showing Haulotte Group branding and model number

Does this manual include torque specs for the engine and driveline?
No. This is an operators and maintenance manual, not a full service manual. It covers daily/weekly checks, error codes, cylinder replacement, and safety specs, but it does not contain engine rebuild torque values or transmission bolt torques. For those, you need the separate repair manual.
Can I use this manual for non-Haulotte aerial work platforms?
No. This document is specific to the Haulotte B33-01-0104 model. Using it on another brand or model could lead to incorrect procedures and safety risks.

That manual stays in my shop library because it’s the real thing. Access the Factory Manual and keep it with the machine – your operators and your bottom line will thank you.
