GEHL 1329, 1330 Parts Catalog – What You Need on the Bench

If you’re ordering parts for a GEHL 1329, 1330 Parts Catalog machine, you don’t guess. Guessing gets you a box that doesn’t fit, a customer waiting, and a phone call you don’t want. I’ve seen techs order an auger sprocket by measuring the old one instead of looking up the part number. That’s lost time. This factory catalog gives you the exact part numbers – no cross-referencing against some aftermarket database that’s wrong half the time. Brake Parts and Axle Assemblies – Page 16-19

Brakes on spreaders get neglected. The Tandem Axles (w/Brakes) section on pages 18-19 lists every component from backing plate to wheel cylinder. If you’ve got a 15K heavy-duty axle, the part numbers are separate from the standard 12K. I’ve seen guys order the wrong brake shoe set because they assumed both axles used the same part. They don’t. The catalog also covers Brake Hydraulics on pages 20-21 – master cylinder, lines, fittings. You need a replacement line? You get the OEM bent tube, not something you have to flare yourself.

Hydraulics 10-13: Lines, Cylinders, and Control Valves

Hydraulic leaks on a spreader mean downtime. Pages 10-13 have the exploded views for the entire hydraulic circuit – hoses, fittings, control valve bodies. If you’re swapping out a cylinder, the Component Parts Listing on page 25 gives you the rod seal kit number. Don’t guess the O-ring size. The catalog includes a Hydraulic Fitting Data table on page 48. That tells you thread pitches and dash sizes. Use that instead of running to the parts store with a sample that might be the wrong flare angle.

Source Validity: Factory Print vs Aftermarket Copy

This is a Gehl Agriculture original parts manual – Form No. 907523 Revision C. It’s printed in the U.S.A. and carries the GEHL company copyright. Aftermarket parts catalogs often use generic illustrations and leave out the hardware callouts. This one tells you the exact grade of cap screw – Grade 5, cadmium or zinc plated – and which hex nut grade to use (Grade B for Grade 5 bolts). The inside back cover has standard hardware torque specifications. Aftermarket reprints usually skip that page because it’s “common knowledge.” Common knowledge gets you a snapped bolt. For related factory documents, check out the GEHL 1330 Parts Catalog and the GEHL SL4640, SL4840, SL5640, SL6640 2005 Parts Catalog. There’s also a GEHL SL7610, SL7710, SL7810 2005 Parts Catalog – OEM Factory Specs if you work on those models.

Does This Manual Cover the Auger Drive and Expeller?

Yes. The Auger & Expeller Drive section (pages 6-7) includes the gearbox, chain, and sprocket details. The Expeller & Discharge Gate section (pages 8-9) has the gate plate, seal, and linkage parts. If the discharge gate won’t close fully, you need the part number for the seal strip – page 9 lists it. The Gearbox page (26-27) breaks down the internal bearings and shafts. You don’t have to pull the gearbox apart to count teeth. It’s all listed. If you’re into diesel engine diagnostics, this Wikipedia article on diesel engines gives good background on how the PTO interacts with the engine, but for part numbers, stick with this catalog.

Decal Locations and Safety Chain – Pages 2-3 and 32

Decals get worn off after a few seasons. Pages 2-3 show every decal location on the spreader – from the caution label near the PTO to the operation decal on the tank. Need a replacement decal? Part number is right there. The Options section (page 32) includes the 20-ton Safety Chain kit. If you’re pulling a spreader with a full load, don’t skip the safety chain. The catalog gives you the bracket and chain part numbers. This isn’t a brainstorm – it’s the factory list.

FAQ – Quick Answers

Q: Does this catalog include part numbers for the brake hydraulics on the tandem axle?
A: Yes. Pages 20-21 cover the brake hydraulics – master cylinder, wheel cylinders, lines, and fittings. Each part is listed with its OEM number.
Q: I have a Gehl 1329 spreader built in 2002. Will the part numbers in this 52-page manual match my unit?
A: Possibly, but you must verify the serial number. The manual covers both the 1329 and 1330 models across multiple production runs. Gehl issued revisions (this is Revision C). Compare your machine’s serial number against any listed serial number breaks in the component sections. The serial number plate is on the front left corner of the tank. If your unit was built after this revision was printed (the print date code on page 3 is CP0605, likely June 2005), some part numbers may have superseded. However, the catalog is still useful because it shows the original design parts – you can identify what changed. For the most current parts, you’d need an updated revision. But for a 2002 machine, this catalog should cover the vast majority of components. The expander and auger drives haven’t changed much. Always verify by ordering one piece first if you’re unsure.

You’ve got the serial number, you’ve got the broken part, and now you’ve got the correct part number. No trips to the dealership parts counter with a greasy sample. Access the Factory Manual and keep it on your tablet or print the pages you need. This 52-page PDF is searchable – type in the part description and find the number. The index on page 42 and numerical index on pages 43-47 cross-reference every part number. That’s how you avoid ordering the wrong auger liner (page 4-5 lists them by length and material). Get the factory data in your hands before you pick up a wrench.
