Description
FIAT Kobelco K916, K916LC 1988 Parts Catalog

If you’ve ever ordered a hydraulic line for a K916 and ended up with the wrong part because some aftermarket catalog used a sketchy drawing, you know the frustration. I’m Mike Callahan, ASE Master Tech for 28 years, and I’ve torqued enough head bolts to know that factory parts catalogs are the only reliable source. This FIAT Kobelco K916, K916LC 1988 Parts Catalog is the original – 602 pages of exploded diagrams and part numbers straight from Kobelco. Original factory print, accurate part numbers.
Upper Group: Frame, Counterweight, and Tank Assemblies
This catalog breaks down every major assembly into numbered sections. Start with the upper frame assembly (section 011-01), counterweight assembly (012-01), battery mount, reduction unit, hydraulic tank, and fuel tank – including the variant for a C-series engine mount. Need the counterweight assembly? It starts on page 012-01. Each subsection lists every bolt, seal, and bracket by part number. If you’re rebuilding a K916LC that sat in a field for ten years, you’ll find every piece to get it back together.
Which Models Does This Catalog Cover?
Exactly two: the FIAT Kobelco K916 and K916LC backhoe loaders. The catalog is applicable from serial numbers LS-0007 and YS-0119 onward. If your machine falls within that range, these part numbers are correct. Older machines may have different specs – cross-reference with Kobelco before ordering. This catalog does not cover the ED series or LK series; those have their own manuals (see related manuals below).
Three Sections You’ll Use Most
First: the Upper Group for chassis and powertrain components – frame, counterweights, tanks. Second: the Cab Group for the operator station – doors, guards, seat belts, and vandalism protection. Third: the front matter that includes the specification combination table and ordering instructions. That table is critical; it tells you which section to use based on your machine’s delivery region (North America, Australia, Europe, etc.). Ignore it, and you might order a silent-type guard for a standard cab. Don’t be that guy.
Use the Specification Combination Table for Your Machine
The table in the front of the catalog – it’s labeled “組合せ一覧表” in Japanese – lists customer codes and corresponding page ranges. For example, North American machines use sections like 052-01 for the cab assembly. If you’re in the US, you want the North American cab, not the Australian or European version. Cross-reference your machine serial number with the table. That’s 602 pages of original data, but only the pages that apply to your build. Save time by using the table first.
Cab Group: North American and Silent Type Variants
The Cab Group (chapter 2) includes multiple variants: standard, silent type, North America, Australia/New Zealand, and G-engine mounts. Page 052-01 covers the cab assembly for North America. There’s also a vandalism guard assembly (059-45A) specific to USA/Canada. If you need a door or seat belt, you’ll find those in sections 055-01 and 071-01. Every fastener is listed – even the ones that look like they came from a hardware store. Trust the factory data, not some third-party compilation.
That’s 602 pages of original data.
For context on why OEM documentation matters in heavy equipment repair, see Automotive Industry Overview and Automotive Industry Overview. The construction equipment industry has relied on factory spec sheets for decades – this catalog is the same gold standard.
- Does this catalog include engine parts?
- No. Engine parts are in a separate engine parts catalog from Kobelco.
- How do I know which section applies to my machine?
- Use the specification combination table found at the beginning of the catalog. It lists the customer codes (e.g., North America, Australia, Europe) and the corresponding page ranges for each assembly. Cross-reference your machine’s serial number with the table to find the correct section. This avoids ordering parts for a different variant. The catalog covers K916 and K916LC from serial LS-0007 and YS-0119 onward. For older machines, contact Kobelco directly.
If you’re working on a FIAT Kobelco K916 or K916LC backhoe loader and need to get the right part numbers the first time, this is the file you want on your tablet or laptop. Access the Factory Manual from AutoRepairManuals and keep your machine running.
