Finger Tip ECU – Why Page 1 Gets Straight to It

The index opens with “Finger Tip ECU” and lists required peripheral equipment. You need a laptop with Doosan’s software and a communication cable – that is not a suggestion. I have seen techs skip that and brick an ECU. The manual tells you what you need before you start. It also has a warning section (page 3) that covers hazards from pinch points and electrical shock. Read it. Twice.

Schematic for Finger Tip System – Two Versions

Pages 2 and 3 give the full schematic for both AC and SE variants. One drawing for B15/18/20T-5 (AC, 36V/48V) and B16/18/20X-5 (AC), and another for the SE versions. Do not mix them up – the SE models use a different control logic. The manual calls out each connector pin assignment on pages 5-6: 26-pin, 24-pin, 30-pin. No guesswork.

Hydraulic Pump Motor Speed – Factory Lift Speed Table

Section “Operation of the controller” has a lift speed table with actual RPM values for each model. You need those numbers to set the pump motor speed correctly. A few hundred RPM off can cause cavitation or sluggish lift. The manual also covers tilt and aux speeds. I have used this table to dial in a B18T-5 that was lifting half capacity – turned out the previous “tech” had the motor speed set to a B20T-5 spec.

Testing And Adjusting – Page 15

This is where you validate the system. The manual provides a troubleshooting flowchart and diagnostic LED codes. It lists the external indicator lamp pattern for each fault. Do not skip the “Failsafe function” section on page 7 – it covers knob failure detection, solenoid failsafe, and the emergency switch. Disassembly & Assembly – Hydraulic Control Valve and ECU

Starting on page 17, the manual walks through disassembly of the fingertip control valve and the ECU. Page 21 covers the hydraulic control valve, page 22 the controller (ECU), and the armrest system. Torque specs are given for valve body bolts and connector screws – OEM numbers, not aftermarket approximations. Use them.

One thing I have to emphasize: the manual is 28 pages. That is tight. Every page has a purpose. Do not lose the schematic foldout.

Why This Manual Beats Aftermarket Copies

I have seen third-party manuals that “rewrite” the Doosan content and lose the safety warnings. This one has the full factory safety alert symbols and all the NOTICE labels. What is the difference between the AC and SE versions of the schematic?

The AC and SE models use different controller configurations. On page 2, the schematic for AC (36V/48V) and B16/18/20X-5 (AC) is shown with the standard motor controller. The SE version on page 3 has an additional SE controller interface and different pin assignments. Doosan separated them because the SE control logic changes the failsafe behavior and the emergency switch circuit. If you use the AC schematic on an SE machine, you will misdiagnose the fault codes. The manual makes this distinction. That is why you need the OEM version.
