Position 4 tells you the GVWR and passenger safety system – whether it’s active driver & passenger air bags or manual/active uni-belt. Position 8 gives the engine code: P for 1.6L SOHC, F for 2.0L HP, C for 2.0L SOHC, S for 2.4L DOHC Turbo. Without that, you could order the wrong alternator or alternator bracket. I’ve seen it happen.

When a water pump fails on a 2.0L Neon, you need the correct pulley bolt pattern – this manual tells you.

Who Needs This Manual – and Who Doesn’t

If you’re a DIY owner with a 2003 Neon and you want to do your own brake job, clutch replacement, or electrical troubleshooting, this is your reference. If you’re a shop technician, this saves billable hours. If you expect generic advice that says ‘remove bolts and replace part,’ you’re better off with a Chilton. This manual assumes you know how to use a torque wrench and a multimeter. It gives you the factory data, not hand-holding.

Does this manual include torque specifications for head bolts?

No. This is a parts and identification manual, not a service repair manual. You need the proper Daimlerchrysler service manual for torque values.

Can I use this manual to troubleshoot a no-start condition?
