Does This Manual Cover Transport Operations?

Chapter 5, Transport Operations, tells you exactly how to load, tie down, and move these machines legally on Texas highways. It covers the requirements for public road driving from the safety chapter (page 2-16) and gives you the proper procedures for using the transport safety pin and support strut. If you’re hauling a 121F on a trailer without this, you’re guessing. And guessing gets your load seized at the weigh station.

Controls and Instruments: The Factory Layout

Chapter 3 breaks down the operator platform access, proper entry and exit (the 3-point contact rule is in there), the front console, steering column, pedals, climate controls, parking brake, and side console. Each subsection has its own page numbers – front console starts at 3-5, pedals at 3-10. No generic diagram, no “similar to” illustration. It’s the exact layout Case put in the cab the day it left the factory.

Check the Safety Signs Before You Operate

Section 2-31 lists every safety sign on the machine, including the California Proposition 65 warning on page 2-2. If you’re a shop owner or a solo operator, you need those decal locations and messages to pass an OSHA inspection. 3-Point Contact Rule for Mounting and Dismounting

Right in the Controls chapter, page 3-1, is the factory method for getting in and out of these loaders. Three points of contact – two hands and one foot, or two feet and one hand. I’ve seen guys hop off a 221F with a wrench in one hand and break an ankle. That page alone can save you a hospital bill.
