Description

Calavar 3238, 4248, 4248LC, 4248T Parts Catalog – Factory OEM Parts List

I’m Mike Callahan. 28 years as an ASE Master Tech, and I’ve torqued more head bolts than most people have had hot meals. If you’re working on a Calavar Condor aerial lift – the 3238, 4248, 4248LC, or 4248T – you need the Calavar 3238, 4248, 4248LC, 4248T Parts Catalog on your bench. I’ve seen mechanics order the wrong handrail weldment because they used a generic parts list. That costs time, money, and can get someone hurt. This is the factory document. 168 pages of exploded views, part numbers, and safety info. No guesswork. You get the part number, the description, the quantity, and the list price. Everything you need to order the correct component the first time. Don’t rely on memory or a worn-out photocopy.

Parts Breakdown Accuracy – Exploded Views and Part Numbers

Page 2 of this catalog shows a detailed parts list for the handrail weldments. You see the old part number, the superseded new part number, quantity, description, and list price. For example, the left side handrail weldment for style V-2033XL-03 carries part number 56664. If you order the old 55478, it won’t fit the updated design. The exploded diagrams let you see exactly which bolt goes where – critical when you’re reassembling an aerial lift. Don’t rely on a parts counter guy who glances at a screen. Bring this catalog.

Which Models Does This Parts Catalog Cover?

Four models: 3238, 4248, 4248LC, and 4248T. Each has its own variations – extended decks, different handrails, lift-up gates. The manual breaks out the differences. For instance, the 4248LC uses a different rear gate weldment than the 4248T. If you mix them up, the gate won’t latch. I’ve had to fix that after someone ignored the factory parts list. The catalog lists each part by model and style, so you order the correct component. The 3238 shares some parts with the 4248, but not all – the manual makes that clear.

168 Pages of Factory-Sourced Data

That’s not a marketing number. That’s 168 pages of actual content. Not a reprint of a third-party scan. This is the original factory PDF from Calavar. It includes the operation/maintenance section, lubrication procedures, vendor specs, and the illustrated parts breakdown. The safety section alone is worth the access. Aerial lifts kill people when parts fail. Use the right part. The manual also lists serial number ranges – Series IV serial numbers 2392-2544 – so you can verify your machine’s build.

Use the Correct Part Number the First Time

Look at the OCR excerpt from page 3: handrail weldment part numbers change between styles. Old V-2648XL-01 had part number 55663 for the handrail weldment ext. deck. The new V-2648XL-02 uses separate left and right handrail weldments (not yet complete in the document, but the pattern shows how supersessions work). If you order the old part without checking the catalog, you might get something that doesn’t fit. This catalog shows the supersession chain. That’s why you need the factory manual, not a photocopy from a buddy.

Safety Section: Factory Warnings You Should Read

Page 1 states the manual contains a special section on safety. I don’t care if you’ve been running lifts for twenty years – every model has specific load limits, hydraulic pressures, and inspection intervals. The manual lists them in the operation/maintenance part. Skip the safety section and you’re liable if something fails. Don’t be that guy. Use the data. The lubrication recommendations alone can prevent hydraulic system contamination that leads to expensive pump failures.

Is this just a list of part numbers?
No. It includes exploded diagrams, operation instructions, lubrication charts, and a safety section. The parts list is cross-referenced with illustrations so you can visually confirm the component.
Does it cover the 4248LC and 4248T?
Yes, all four models are covered. The manual has separate sections for each model, with specific part numbers for the 4248LC extended deck and the 4248T front rail weldment. You’ll find the differences on pages 2-3 of the parts list.
Can I use this to order parts from a Calavar dealer?
Yes. The part numbers are original Calavar numbers. Dealers enter those into their system. Ordering with the wrong number causes delays. Use this catalog to get it right.
Does this manual include torque specs?
The operation/maintenance section includes specifications such as fluid capacities and fastener torques where applicable. For a full service manual with detailed torque sequences, see the related manuals below.
