Description

Atlas Copco CA2500 2015 User Manual

If you’re running a CA2500 vibratory roller and don’t have the factory book, you’re working blind. I’ve seen guys spend half a day chasing a hydraulic leak that could’ve been diagnosed in 20 minutes with the right specs. The Atlas Copco CA2500 2015 User Manual – 156 pages of OEM data – is what you need on the rack. This isn’t some aftermarket reprint with numbers that might be close. This is the original PDF from Sweden, printed in 2015, covering both the Cummins QSB 3.3 IIIA/T3 and IIIB/T4i engines. Serial number ranges are listed on page 1. You get the same document that Atlas Copco shipped with the machine.

I’ve torqued enough drums to tell you: missing the sequence on the hub bolts means pulling the whole assembly off again. This manual keeps you from learning that the hard way. It starts with safety – not generic bullet points, but machine-specific warnings about rollover, driving near edges, and slope angles. The table of contents lays it out: Introduction (page 1), Safety – when operating (page 7), Special instructions (page 11), Technical specifications (page 15), and Tightening torque at the end. Every section is written for a technician who needs the actual number, not a guess.

Safety When Operating: Edges, Slopes, and Security Warnings

Pages 7–8 of the manual cover operating safety. The CA2500 weighs around [DATA NEEDED] pounds, and if you drive too close to an edge or hit a slope wrong, the center of gravity shifts fast. The manual spells out Security Warning – machinery, Driving near edges, and Slopes with specific angles. I’ve seen a roller tip on a 2:1 grade because the operator didn’t know the limit. This book gives you the factory numbers. You won’t find that in a generic Chilton’s. Also note the ROPS certification instructions on page 12 – welding on the frame voids it, and the manual tells you why.

Technical Specifications: Engine, Hydraulics, and Weights

Page 15 lists the vibration specs for the operator station and noise levels in dBA. The electrical system diagram is there too. Dimensions are on pages 16–17 (side and top views). Working capacity on page 18. But the critical data for any mechanic is the hydraulic system on page 19 – pressures for the drive, vibration, and steering circuits. If you’re swapping a pump or adjusting relief valves, that’s where you’ll find the correct settings. The optional ACC system is covered on page 20. Need to know refrigerant capacity? It’s in there.

Tightening Torque and Special Instructions

Special instructions start on page 11. That’s where you’ll find standard lubricants, what to do when ambient temps exceed +40°C (104°F), high pressure cleaning procedures, fire fighting, battery handling (including 24V jump start). And right after that is the Tightening torque section – no page number given, but it’s in the TOC. The torque values are for all critical fasteners: drum mounts, engine bolts, hub nuts. Don’t guess. A bolt that’s 10 ft-lb over can crack a casting. The factory sequence is there. Use a calibrated torque wrench, not your arm.

Does This Manual Cover the Optional ACC System?

Yes. Automatic Climate Control (ACC) is listed under Technical specifications on page 20. The manual includes the wiring diagrams and component locations. If your machine has the optional cab with AC, you need that page to troubleshoot compressor or fan issues. The aftermarket manuals I’ve seen skip this entirely or give generic AC specs that don’t match the CA2500’s setup. This OEM document gets it right.

3 Systems You Can’t Afford to Guess On

  • Hydraulic system (page 19) – wrong pressure = weak vibration or blown seals.
  • Electrical system (page 15) – miswiring the starter circuit can fry the ECU on that Cummins.
  • Roll Over Protective Structure (ROPS) (page 12) – welding or drilling without reading that section voids the certification and risks your life.

Each of these systems is covered with OEM diagrams and tolerances. If you’re a professional mechanic or a fleet owner, you can’t afford to rely on memory or a third-party site. The Manual Transmission data in other documents is useful, but this manual is specific to the CA2500 roller. Same goes for the Manual Transmission – different machine, different specs. Stick with the factory source.

Source Authenticity: OEM vs Aftermarket Documentation

I’ve seen too many aftermarket manuals that copy the table of contents but mess up the torque specs. They’re not worth the paper they’re printed on. This is the original OEM PDF from Atlas Copco, published in 2015. It’s a 156-page file with the exact content that came in the machine’s glovebox. The serial number range is noted right on the cover page. If you need the CA2500/3500/6000 Instruction Manual for related models, check Atlas Copco CA2500/3500/6000 Instruction Manual. For other Atlas Copco equipment, see Atlas Copco XRY5 557 Cd, XRXS 567 Cd, XRXS 607 Cd 2010 User Manual and Atlas Copco XAHS 146 Dd 2010 User Manual – Factory Specs. But for the CA2500, this is the only version you should trust.

One short paragraph: Access the factory manual. You’ll save hours and avoid costly rework.

FAQ

Does this manual cover the Cummins QSB 3.3 engine?
Yes. Both Tier 3 and Tier 4i variants are included.
I have a CA2500 with serial number outside the range listed. Will the manual still apply?
The manual covers serial numbers 10000157x0A014508 – 10000158x0A012422 as of the 2015 printing. If your machine falls outside that range, the bulk of the procedures (torque specs, hydraulic pressures, safety info) still apply because the design didn’t change drastically between those runs. However, minor electrical or hydraulic revisions might have occurred. Check with Atlas Copco for any supplementary bulletins if you’re unsure. The manual itself includes a note “Reservation for changes” on the cover – meaning they knew updates happen. For most repairs, this PDF is accurate. Always verify with the machine’s VIN plate if in doubt.

That’s it. You’ve got a 156-page OEM document that covers everything from safety to torque. Don’t waste time on guesses. Access the Factory Manual from AutoRepairManuals and get back to work.
