Description

Yale MCW 2000, MCW 2500, MCW 3000, MCW 4000 1992 Parts Catalog

Yale MCW 2000-4000 1992 parts catalog cover, showing a Yale industrial truck

If you’ve ever ordered a part for a Yale walkie pallet jack based on a worn-out casting number and got the wrong brake shoe because some aftermarket catalog “approximated” the design, you know the waste of time. That’s why this original 1992 Yale MCW 2000, MCW 2500, MCW 3000, MCW 4000 1992 Parts Catalog exists: to give you the exact factory numbers for every nut, seal, and contactor in these trucks. 152 pages of straight-from-Yale illustrations and part listings. No guesswork.

Parts Alphabetical Index: How to Find What You Need

Flipping through a 152-page manual blind is stupid. This catalog opens with a full alphabetical index – look up “Axle-Drive”, page 3-2. “Brake Shoes & Linkage”, page 3-6. “Cylinder, Duplex Hoist”, page 6-29. Every section is labeled with the exact chapter number and page. You’re not skimming; you’re going straight to the exploded diagram. The index covers everything from Battery Compartment (page 1-4) to Resistor, Drive (page 2-2).

Axle-Drive and Brake Shoes: Critical Replacement Specs

The walkie’s drive axle takes abuse. MCW 2000 models share many parts with the heavier units, but not all. Section 3-2 shows the drive unit assembly with every bolt, bearing, and shim identified by Yale part number. Brake shoes are on page 3-6. If you assume the MCW 2500 uses the same shoes as the MCW 3000, you might be wrong – the manual calls out the difference. Get the right part the first time, or double the labor pulling the axle again.

Electrical System Components: SCR Controllers and Motors

Troubleshooting a dead contactor? Section 2-6 covers the SCR controller and PMC control panel. Page 2-8 shows the directional contactor. Hoist motor on pages 2-18 and 2-19. The wiring is specific to voltage – 12V vs 24V – so don’t mix them. This manual lists the exact resistor packs, fuses (15A on page 2-2, 150A on page 2-4), and potentiometer (4-6).

Hydraulic System: Cylinders and Pumps

Hoist cylinders are grouped by type: simplex, duplex, triplex. Page 6-9 for simplex hoist on MCW 020/030; page 6-10 for MCW 040. Duplex & triplex free lift cylinders on page 6-30. Pump assemblies – 12V 020/030 on page 7-8, 12V 040 on page 7-9, 24V on page 7-10. Hydraulic diagram on page 7-14. If your tilt cylinder leaks, section 7-11 gives the seal kit part number. No need to measure old seals – look it up.

Source Authenticity: Why OEM Matters

This is an original Yale publication, not a third-party recompile. Printed March 1992 by Yale Materials Handling Corp in Greenville, NC. The note on page 2 says it contains “complete and accurate parts replacement information available at the time of publication.” Every page has the Yale industrial trucks header. The model nomenclature table (page 3) decodes the serial plate: MCW 030 L A N 24 S S 083 tells you exactly which truck you have. Aftermarket manuals skip that.

Compare that to Automotive Industry Overview – broad, not truck-specific. You need part numbers, not theory. Automotive Industry Overview won’t tell you the part for a 15A fuse. This manual does.

Q: Does this manual cover the MCW 4000 with a triplex mast?
Yes. The catalog includes mast assemblies for simplex, duplex, and triplex for all four capacity ratings. Look at section 6-2 through 6-30. Triplex hoist cylinder is on page 6-31.
Q: Can I order parts directly from the part numbers in this manual?
Yes. Contact your authorized Yale dealer with the part number from the manual. The dealer contact info is on page 1 of the original publication.
Q: Is the wiring diagram included?
No. This is a parts catalog, not a service manual. It shows electrical components (contactors, resistors, controllers) with part numbers, but does not contain wiring schematics. You need the service manual for that.
Q: How many pages and what year?
152 pages, published 1992. Models MCW 2000 through MCW 4000. The manual covers standard trucks and common options, but special options require a separate special parts manual from Yale.

If you’re tired of cross-referencing aftermarket numbers that don’t match your truck’s serial plate, get the original OEM catalog. Access the Factory Manual – 152 pages of verified Yale part data, ready to print or view.
