Fuel and EVAP System Overview
The EVAP system in the Prius uses a returnless fuel system and a bladder fuel tank to minimize vapor emissions. That bladder – a resin tank sealed inside a metal outer tank – expands and contracts with fuel volume. At 14°F the resin shrinks, cutting capacity by about five liters.
