You’ve got a 5-axle Terex AC200-1 Training Manual in front of you because the transmission on your crane is acting up. The dash shows a clutch overload light and you’re trying to decide whether to go manual mode or let the ZF-AS TRONIC sort it out. Guessing from experience cost a shop I know a new housing last month. This 28-page OEM document lays out the factory procedure for the drive gearbox – the automatic ZF 16-speed with splitter and range unit. It’s not aftermarket fluff. Page 3 gives you the full description of the system: the drive motor flanged to the gearbox via a dry clutch, a two-stage distributor gear, and a hydraulic retarder (ZF Intarder) integrated into the transmission.
