Bleeding Air from the Cylinders: The Procedure
One of the most useful procedures in this manual is the hydraulic cylinder bleeding sequence on page 5 (continued from earlier). The steps are explicit: with engine at slow speed, extend and contract cylinders 4-5 times but stop 100 mm before the stroke end. Do not extend completely. Then repeat at full speed, then slow again and extend fully. Miss that intermediate step and you’ll trap air, causing spongy controls and seal damage. The manual doesn’t let you skip.
