Description

MOXY MT41 2004 Operators Manual

MOXY MT41 2004 Operators Manual cover page – 204 pages

You’ve got a MOXY MT41 on the lot with a dead engine or a dodgy transmission. The dealer wants four figures for a diagnostic. Aftermarket PDFs skip the safety steps and give you torque values that feel like guesses. That’s why you need the real thing: the MOXY MT41 2004 Operators Manual. 204 pages of procedures written by the people who built the truck. No translation errors, no missing pages.

Safety Instructions: 28 Sections You Cannot Skip

Section 2 of this manual runs from page 9 to 40, covering 28 specific safety topics. Dump truck knowledge, precautions before starting the engine, rules for filling fuel or oil, battery hazard prevention, and emergency steering. If you’ve ever had a hydraulic line burst, you’ll appreciate the detail on high-pressure hazards. The manual also covers welding on the dump truck, tiltable cab, and body support. These are not generic warnings – they are specific to the MT41 chassis. Skip them and you’re asking for a hospital visit or a bent frame.

Operating Controls: Know Your Dashboard Before You Move

Pages 41 to 78 give you every instrument, warning light, switch, and control. The overview of instrument panels is laid out so you can identify each gauge without flipping pages. Need to know what that red light means? It’s in the warning/indicator lights section. The manual also covers cab ventilation and other cabin equipment – important when you’re working in San Antonio heat. I’ve seen techs burn out a starter because they didn’t understand the preheat cycle. This section prevents that.

Running-in Period: Why You Don’t Ignore It

Section 4 (pages 79-84) covers the running-in operation and the required services. New engine? New transmission? You follow the running-in procedure or you void the warranty. The manual specifies load limits and service intervals – 50 hours, 100 hours, etc. Not following these steps leads to early wear. I’ve seen it happen. Don’t be that guy.

Lubricants and Fuel: Getting the Right Spec

Section 6 (pages 117-124) is the lubrication schedule, oil specification sheet, filling capacities, and transmission oil list. You need to know what oil goes in the Engine? It’s in the oil spec sheet. Fuel filter change interval? It’s in the maintenance table. The manual gives you the exact grades – not “equivalent” or “recommended”. Factory specs. If you use the wrong oil, you’ll lose power and burn through seals. Section 8 also has a metering conversion table if you’re working in imperial units – but the specs are in metric, so have your conversion chart ready.

Factory specs. No aftermarket copies.

Technical Data: Torque Specs and Fluid Capacities

Section 8 (pages 169-202) is the motherlode. Engine data, transmission specs, hydraulic system pressures, tyre pressures, electrical system diagrams. Torque limits for bolts – not generic values, but the actual numbers for the MT41. Need the charge pressure? Page 73. Need the retarder brake capacity? It’s in the performance chart. The tool kit content is listed so you know what’s supposed to be in the box. This section alone is worth the price of the manual. For additional information on the Manual Transmission system, refer to the transmission oil list and torque values provided.

Maintenance Schedule: From 8 Hours to 4000 Hours

Section 7 (pages 125-168) has the maintenance precautions and a full table. Daily service (8 hours), weekly (40 hours), then 500, 1000, 2000, 4000 hours. Each interval lists what to check and replace. The manual also includes yearly recommended maintenance. If you follow this schedule, the MT41 will run for decades. Ignore it and you’ll be replacing components prematurely.

Does this manual cover the engine and fuel system?
Yes. Section 8 contains engine technical data, and Section 6 covers lubricants and fuel specifications. The maintenance schedule includes fuel filter and injector checks.
Is this an OEM manual or a reprint?
This is the original factory manual published by Moxy Engineering AS in May 2004, part number 511847. 204 pages, no missing sections, no edits from third parties. It’s the same manual the dealer would sell you.
Can I use this manual for other MOXY models?
No. This manual is specific to the MT41. However, we sell related manuals: MOXY MT25, MT26, MT31, MT36, MT41 2007 Operators Manual – Factory Specs, Moxy MT36 Series II Operator & Maintenance Manual, and Moxy MT40B/MT40B Series II Operating Manual.
What about the transmission? Is there a separate manual?
The transmission section is included in this manual. For a deeper understanding of the Manual Transmission system, you can refer to the manufacturer’s documentation. The manual covers transmission oil list and torque values.
