I’ve been turning wrenches for 28 years, ASE Master for most of them. What gets under my skin is opening a manual that says ‘refer to factory specifications’ without printing the actual number. Section 04 details front and rear disc brakes. Section 05 covers the G35M-R transaxle with cross-sectional view, triple cone synchronizer, and shift mechanism operation. At 274 pages, this training manual is dense. It is not a ‘quick reference’ guide – it is the reference. The general information section gives you the VIN code breakdown, engine/transaxle combinations, and scheduled maintenance intervals for Europe. That last part matters because Euro-spec Mazda6 models have different service intervals than US or JDM versions. If you are working on an import, you need that data. Is this manual for the gasoline or diesel Mazda6?
