Iseki TH4260, TH4290, TH4330 Service Manual

Iseki TH4330 Service Manual cover showing tractor and model numbers

If you’re turning wrenches on an Iseki TH4260, TH4290, or TH4330 and you’re relying on a generic aftermarket PDF or a half-memory from the last job, you’re costing yourself time and risking a comeback. These compact 4WD tractors have a split-case transmission setup and a hydrostatic drive that will punish guesswork. This Service Manual runs 248 pages and came straight out of Iseki’s own print shop. It’s the same binder that sits on the bench at authorized dealers. No reprint, no third-party rewrite, no missing pages. You get the actual factory step-by-step sequences, torque values, and cable layout diagrams. If you need to separate the engine from the front transmission case (page 31), you better have that procedure in front of you — one wrong lift and you’re chasing a cracked housing.

Transmission Disassembly and Reassembly

Chapter 5 covers the standard transmission removal and installation. Chapter 6 goes deep into the hydrostatic transmission — construction, names of major components, disassembly on page 68, and reassembly starting page 74. Pay attention to the shim selection and O-ring placement. Missing a detail there means a leak at the charge pump housing. The manual includes drawings of the transmission on page 18 that show the exact oil passages. You won’t find that in any condensed aftermarket summary. For a refresher on how a Manual Transmission works, check the external link — but for the specific Iseki gear ratios and bearing preloads, stick to page 54.

Engine Service Data and Accessories

Chapter 3 starts at page 40 with radiator specs, cooling fan belt tension, air cleaner service, and fuel system troubleshooting. The fuel system section includes injection pump timing marks and bleed procedures. If your TH4260 is hard-starting, don’t throw parts at it — run through the troubleshooting tree on page 46. It’s laid out in a decision-table format. Iseki doesn’t waste space. You get the airflow and coolant capacity numbers right in the table on page 42. No guesswork.

Hydraulic System: Circuits and Valve Service

Chapter 9 is the thickest section — 27 pages starting at page 104. Hydraulic system diagram, circuit diagram, PTO control valve, main control valve, flow control valve, safety valve, relief valve, gear pump. If you’ve got a three-point hitch that drifts or a loader that’s weak, you need the relief valve setting and the gear pump flow test procedure. Page 126 gives the relief valve cracking pressure spec. I don’t care how many years you’ve been turning wrenches — never set a relief valve without the factory number. That’s how you blow seals. The manual also includes an exploded view of the cylinder on page 111. For the hydrostatic transmission’s interaction with the hydraulic system, reference the earlier Manual Transmission basics, but the real data is here.

Electrical Accessories and Wiring Layout

Chapter 10 (page 134) shows the cable layout and wire harness layout. If you’re chasing an intermittent no-start or a bad ground, you need the harness routing and connector pinout. The troubleshooting chart on page 139 covers the starter circuit, charging system, and safety interlocks. I’ve seen guys spend half a day tracing a short that’s actually a chafed wire behind the dash — the layout drawing would have shown it in ten minutes. This is factory printing, not a fuzzy scan of a scan.

Lubrication & Maintenance: Specs and Capacities

Chapter 11 (page 142) gives you the oil grades, fill points, and capacities in Imperial units. Transmission oil, engine oil, hydraulic fluid, final drive — each with the correct viscosity and quantity. The periodic inspection table on page 144 tells you what to check at 50, 200, and 500 hours. Service standards on page 145 list the allowable wear limits for brake linings, clutch discs, and steering components. Skip this and you’re guessing on wear tolerances — that’s how you end up with a failed PTO clutch.

Who Actually Needs This Manual?

If you own a TH4260, TH4290, or TH4330 and you do your own maintenance, you need this. If you’re a small engine shop that sees these compact tractors come through, you need this. The manual is written for a mechanic who knows how to use a torque wrench but needs the right value. The audience is anyone who has felt the frustration of a parts catalog that doesn’t match the bolt pattern, or a repair video that says “tighten until snug” on a high-torque joint. This is the opposite of that. Every step is numbered, every torque spec is listed in ft-lbs and in-lbs, every clearance is given. The 248 pages are dense with data — no filler paragraphs, no marketing fluff.

Where This Manual Came From (and Why It Matters)

This is an original Iseki publication, scanned from a print copy. It’s not a compilation of notes from some third-party vendor. The source validity is backed by the part number on the back cover and the punched identification marks on the first page (page 4). Aftermarket manuals for Iseki tractors often skip the hydrostatic transmission section or compress the hydraulic diagrams. This one has the full Chapter 6 and Chapter 9 intact. If you’ve been burned by a generic PDF that lists the wrong spark plug gap on a diesel engine, you’ll appreciate the difference. The only thing better than this would be a paper copy, but the digital lets you zoom into the shim stack drawing on page 68.

Does this manual cover the TH4330 with factory cab?
Yes. The manual covers all three models (TH4260, TH4290, TH4330) regardless of cab or ROPS configuration. The wiring layout section includes the cab harness routing.
Are the torque specs in ft-lbs or Nm?
Imperial units. All bolt torques are listed in ft-lbs and in-lbs. No conversion table needed.
Can I print the PDF?
You can print pages for personal use. The file is high-resolution, so the hydraulic diagrams come out readable on letter or A4 paper.
What if I need parts diagrams too?
This service manual does not include a parts catalog. For exploded views with part numbers, get the ISEKI TH4260/TH4290/TH4330 Parts Catalog, the Iseki TH4260/TH4290/TH4330 Chassis Parts Catalog, or the ISEKI TH4260 TH4290 TH4330 Parts Catalogue Manual. Those are separate documents.

You’ve read through the chapter breakdown. You know what’s in it. The difference between having the factory procedure and not having it is measured in hours of fruitless disassembly and the cost of one wrong part. Access the Factory Manual now and put it on your tablet or print the pages you need for the job. Your TH4260, TH4290, or TH4330 will thank you.
