Description
GEHL 3200 Parts Catalog

If you are buying parts for a GEHL 3200 rectangular bale thrower without the factory Parts Catalog, you are asking for returns. Wrong fasteners, mismatched roller assemblies, guessing at which decal kit fits – I have seen it waste a full Saturday in the shop. This 24-page OEM publication from GEHL Agriculture, Form No. 904783, is what you need on the bench. It gives you the exact part number, description, and quantity required, along with standard attaching hardware torque values on the inside back cover. No aftermarket transcription errors. No reprints.
You order from the right page. Page 4 shows decal locations – critical if the old stickers are gone and you rely on them for safety warnings and unit identification. The model and serial number decal lives on the left front. Left and right are defined from behind the unit facing forward (actuator is on the left).
Decal Locations and Unit Identification
Page 2 of the catalog spells it out: “Right” and “left” are determined from a position standing behind the unit and facing forward. That distinction matters when you order a replacement decal for the right side. The manual lists the decal sheet part numbers – you don’t need to guess which one goes where. Bolts are Grade 5 unless specified. Hexagon nuts for Grade 5 are Grade B. Those details are in the introduction, not buried in an appendix.
Hydraulic Controls and Pump: Factory Specs
The hydraulic section is split into front controls (page 8) and rear controls plus actuator mounting (page 10). The gear pump lives on page 12; the gear motor on page 13. If you have a leak or a failed pump, flipping to those pages gives you the exploded view with each seal, fitting, and mounting bracket identified. The parts list includes the correct O-ring sizes. No guesswork. For related models with similar hydraulic architecture, check out the GEHL SL4640, SL4840, SL5640, SL6640 2005 Parts Catalog and the GEHL SL7610, SL7710, SL7810 2005 Parts Catalog – OEM Factory Specs. Both use the same pump series.
Instrument Panel & Wiring: Factory Wiring Diagram
Page 15 is where the wiring diagram lives. I cannot tell you how many aftermarket “universal” schematics I have seen that completely miss the bale thrower’s actuator control circuit. This manual shows the exact wire colors, terminal locations, and the instrument panel layout. If your bale thrower has an electrical fault – intermittent actuator or dead gauge – this is where you start. trace the harness with a multimeter and the factory diagram; you will find the short or open in minutes. For a deeper understanding of diesel engine electrical systems, refer to this Wikipedia article on diesel engines or this Wikipedia article on diesel engines.
The Safety Shields section on page 16 is not optional. It shows all guards and their fasteners. Skipping that page means you might miss a shield that is required for PTO or chain drive protection. Order the shield and the bolts together.
Safety Shields – Don’t Skip This Section
Page 16 lists every safety shield, including the decal that warns of pinch points. If you are restoring a 3200 or replacing damaged sheet metal, you need these part numbers. They are not interchangeable with other GEHL models.
How to Use the Numerical Index
Page 17 is the numerical index – a straight list of every part number in the catalog with the page where it appears. If you have a part in hand with a number stamped on it, look it up here first. It saves time flipping through sections. The index includes the part number, description, and page reference. This is the fastest way to cross-reference if you inherit a machine with loose parts.
One more tip: the manual says “When ordering service parts, specify the correct part number, full description, quantity required, the unit model number and serial number.” Follow that exactly. The serial number decal location is on page 2. Don’t skip it.
If you need parts for the newer bale throwers, the GEHL RS6-34 2013 Parts Catalog – Factory OEM Manual covers that model. But for the 3200, this is it.
