Inside the back cover you’ll find the Standard Hardware Torque table. Your 5/8-inch blade bolt gets a specific ft-lb – not the generic chart from a parts store. I’ve seen guys snap those bolts off at 120 ft-lb because some aftermarket book said “tighten to spec.” Gehl says 75 ft-lb for a grade 8 bolt of that diameter. You need that page. Without it you’re either leaving the blade loose or pulling threads in the hub.

What about aftermarket manuals?

I’ve seen aftermarket manuals that claim to cover the GEHL 162/165 and they leave out half the torque specs. They skip the inside back cover torque table. Or they copy the wiring diagram from a different year. That’s how you snap a bolt at 80 ft-lbs when it should be 55. OEM means you get the exact values the factory stamped on the line.
