Description
Ford 1100, 1110, 1200, 1210, 1300 Workshop Manual

You grab a manual off the shelf. It’s flimsy, reprint-quality, and the torque table says “refer to dealer.” That’s not a manual—that’s a paperweight. I’ve been turning wrenches since before some of you were born, and I’ll tell you straight: if the specs aren’t from Ford’s own engineering department, you’re guessing. Guessing costs time, parts, and sometimes a tow truck. That’s why this Ford 1100, 1110, 1200, 1210, 1300 Workshop Manual sits on my bench, not some aftermarket cheat sheet.
This is an original factory document—116 pages of procedure, not fluff. It covers everything from the radiator cap to the final drive planetaries. The tractor model number, serial number, and engine number are stamped on a tag on the left side of the transmission housing. That tag is your key to ordering the right parts. This manual tells you exactly how to use it.
Engine Overhaul – Cylinder Head to Crankshaft
Look at the index: Engine Assembly, R&R starts on page 26. That’s where you’ll find the sequence for pulling the cylinder head, pulling the camshaft, and checking the crankshaft journals. Every step has a torque value—Ford OEM, not a guess from some forum. When I rebuild a 1300 engine, I don’t take shortcuts. I follow page 26 for the head bolt pattern and page 27 for the cylinder head removal. Miss one step and you’ll be pulling that head again for a leak at the gasket. The manual also covers pistons, rings, cylinders, connecting rods, timing gears, and oil pump. If you’re rebuilding the block, you need this.
Fuel System – Injector Nozzles and Timing Without the Headache
Diesel fuel systems on these tractors are picky. The manual dedicates a full section to the Diesel-Fuel System: bleeding, filter, injection pump, injector nozzles, speed adjustment, and timing. Page 55 shows the filter replacement interval. Page 57 walks you through injection pump R&R. I’ve had guys bring me a 1210 that wouldn’t start because they changed the filter and didn’t bleed the system. The manual shows the bleed procedure in plain language. No guesswork. Follow the sequence and it fires on the first turn.
Wiring Diagrams – Page 195 Saves You From Shorts
Electrical gremlins are the worst. Chasing a bad ground on a 1970s tractor without a diagram is like trying to find a leak in a dark hose. The wiring diagrams land on page 195. Alternator, starter, lights—each circuit is drawn with component locations and wire colors. I once spent three hours on a 1100 that had a dead charging system. Traced it to a corroded connector at the alternator. The diagram showed me the exact run. Saved me pulling the dash apart. If you’re doing any electrical work, bookmark that page.
Hydraulic System – Testing and Troubleshooting
Hydraulics on these tractors lift more than just implements—they lift your blood pressure when they fail. The manual covers adjustments, control valve, filter, lift arm housing, pump, testing, and trouble-shooting. Page 172 gives you the testing procedure with pressure specs. Page 174 unpacks the pump overhaul. I had a 1200 that wouldn’t lift a 3-point hitch. Followed the trouble-shooting on page 171: check the filter first. Clogged filter. Ten-minute fix. Without that info, you’d be pulling the pump for nothing.
Who Needs This Manual – And Who Doesn’t
If you own a Ford 1100, 1110, 1200, 1210, or 1300 tractor, this manual is for you. Home garage mechanics, small farm owners, or anyone who does their own maintenance. If you’re a pro who charges by the hour, this manual pays for itself the first time you avoid a split that didn’t need to happen. Beginners: don’t be scared. The steps are numbered, the torque specs are listed. Read each step twice before you turn a wrench. If you just want to change oil and check coolant, you can get by with a owner’s handbook. But if you’re tackling a clutch replacement, an engine rebuild, or a hydraulic leak, you need the depth here.
OEM Print – Why Aftermarket Manuals Fall Short
Aftermarket manuals copy from each other. They leave out torque sequences, combine models, and reprint blurry wiring diagrams. This manual comes from the original Ford print files. The page numbers match the factory part number list. The torque values are the same ones Ford used on the assembly line. When you see a spec for the camshaft end play, it came out of Dearborn, not some third-party editor’s imagination. That’s why I won’t let a reprint touch my toolbox.

- Does this manual cover the 4-wheel drive axle?
- Yes. The Front Axle and Steering section includes axle procedures for both 2WD and 4WD models. The index lists separate entries for each.
- Can I use this for a 1710 model?
- The manual covers 1100, 1110, 1200, 1210, 1300, 1310, 1500, 1510, 1700, 1710, 1900, 1910, and 2110. Page references vary by model—the index at the front shows which paragraph applies to which model. For a 1710, you’ll use the 1510/1710 column in the index.
There’s only one way to get the right information without paying a dealer an hour of labor: access the factory manual. Put it on your tablet, print the pages you need, and keep it in the shop. Your tractor will run longer, and you’ll spend less time guessing.
