Description

Fendt 920 Vario, 924 Vario, 930 Vario, 922 Vario, 927 Vario 2007 Workshop Manual

If you’re wrenching on a Fendt 900 Vario COM III and you don’t have the factory document in the cab, you’re working blind. I’ve seen guys chase a no-start for three hours because they guessed at the common rail pressure spec. This manual stops that. It’s 861 pages of OEM data – not a reprint, not a chiltons, not a PDF that some guy scanned while holding a beer. It’s the same binder AGCO issued to dealer techs in 2007. Need a torque value for the pinion shaft? Page 25 has the bolt tightening table in Nm and kpm. Need to find why the Auto-Guide won’t lock? Page 143 walks you through satellite reception checks. This is the difference between a repair that stays fixed and one that comes back on a flatbed. Fendt 920 Vario 2007 Workshop Manual cover showing tractor and COM III system

Fault Code Table and Common Rail Diesel Diagnostics

Section 0000-B starts with a full fault code table for the Fendt 900 Vario COM III. That’s 70 pages of codes – from engine management to transmission pressure faults. If the dash throws a code and you don’t have this table, you’re swapping parts. The manual also covers faults on the Common Rail diesel engine that don’t trigger a code at all. I’ve used this to trace an intermittent low-power complaint to a purge valve that wasn’t opening. The error search plan for the compressed air system (trailer brake) on page 157 saved me an afternoon once. You need this when the customer is waiting on a load.

Transmission Housing: Separating Engine and Clutch Housing

Section 1050-G gives the procedure for splitting the tractor – engine from clutch housing. This isn’t something you learn on YouTube. The manual tells you the exact sequence to avoid bending the input shaft. It also covers reassembling with the right sealant and bolt torque (page 25 for the torque table). If you’ve ever had a clutch housing leak after a split, you know why OEM spec matters. Aftermarket manuals skimp on the torque values for bellhousing bolts – this one lists them all in Nm.

3 Calibration Codes You Cannot Afford to Skip

Section 0000-F covers calibration procedures for the COM III electronics. Calibration code 4007 (transmission ratio characteristic) and 4009 (turbo-clutch function) are critical after any transmission work. Skip them and the tractor will shift like a drunk teenager. The manual also details calibration code 2401 for steering angle sensor – only possible with Auto-Guide equipped tractors. Each calibration has the required tool list and the exact steps to avoid throwing the system into limp mode. FENDT 900 Vario Series 2003 Service Training Manual covers earlier versions, but this one is for the 2007 COM III.

Does This Manual Cover the Front and Rear PTO?

Yes. Section 1200 covers the front PTO complete with technical drawings and measuring procedures. Section 1070 covers the rear wheel brake adjustments – including the wheel brake cylinder drawing. For the transmission, section 1005 gives you the pressure measuring points and the hydraulic system diagram. If you need to adjust the rear PTO clutch, calibration code 6034 is in 0000-F. This manual was designed for a shop bay, not a coffee table. Every page is functional.

Source Authenticity: Why OEM Beats Third-Party Manuals

I’ve been burned by aftermarket manuals that list generic torque values “for reference.” That’s how you snap a bolt in an aluminum housing. This document is the original AGCO factory print – Fendt 916 Vario, 920 Vario, 924 Vario, 926 Vario, 930 Vario User Manual | OEM Fa covers the earlier user-level material, but this workshop manual is for the technician. The wiring diagrams (section 0000-D) are component-specific – every electrical component from A to Y has a position diagram. No guesswork. The Manual Transmission section (1005) includes the function diagram and the test procedures for pressure. Manual Transmission references here are consistent with the factory nomenclature.

Torque Specs and Fluid Capacities

Page 25 lists tightening torques for bolts in Nm and kpm. Not a “tighten until it feels right” range – specific values for M6, M8, M10, M12, M14, M16, and M18 bolts. If you need transmission oil capacity, section 1080-G covers replenishing transmission oil as part of the drive train repair. The manual also includes the technical drawing for the rear wheel brake (section 1070-C). Every fastener on that tractor has a number in this book.

What models does this manual cover exactly?
Fendt 920 Vario, 922 Vario, 924 Vario, 927 Vario, and 930 Vario – COM III – 2007 model year. Chassis numbers starting from 919..0101, 922..0101, 925..0101, 928..0101, 931..0101, 934..0101.
Are the wiring diagrams color-coded?
Black and white schematics with component labels. Section 0000-D lists every electrical component by position (A through Y). For tractor-specific variants, you cross-reference the component number.
How many pages is it?
861 pages. Split into two volumes – this is Volume 1. The TOC runs from Overall System/Tractor through Transmission/Front PTO.
Does it include the Auto-Guide system diagnostics?
Yes. Fault codes for Auto-Guide, satellite reception checking (page 143), and calibration of the roll bias sensor are in section 0000-B and 0000-F. The manual also covers setting the radio module frequency for the base station.

If you work on these tractors, you need the factory document. The Fendt 922-933 Vario COM III 2007 Workshop Manual – 1267 Pages covers the larger model range, but this 861-page volume covers the five main 900 Vario models. I keep a printed copy in the shop and a PDF on the tablet. You should too. Access the Factory Manual and stop guessing.
