Description
Doosan D33S, D35C, D20/25/30S, G20/25/30P-5 2008 Service Manual

Let me save you some grief. I’ve been turning wrenches since before some of you were born, and I’ve seen more snapped bolts from aftermarket torque tables than I care to count. If you’re working on a Doosan D33S, D35C, D20/25/30S, or G20/25/30P-5 forklift from the 2008 era, you need the factory Service Manual. Not a scanned copy from some forum. Not a third-party reprint. The real OEM document, 1651 pages thick, with every spec Doosan engineers put on paper. That’s what this is.
Page 2 of the manual has the safety warnings straight from Doosan – lifting procedures for components over 50 lb., hot fluid cautions, and proper use of steps and grab handles. I won’t repeat them here, but read them before you put a wrench on anything. The Torque Specifications section (part of SB2004E00) lives on page 1 of the binder. That’s where you find values for head bolts, main bearing caps, and every fastener that matters. Use the wrong value and you’re chasing a leak or a head gasket failure a month later.
3 Sections You Must Check Before Starting
First, the Engine Mechanical System section (chapter 3 under SB4241E00). That covers the 4TNV98 and 4TNE98 diesel engines for the D-series and the G20(FEE) LPG/gasoline engine for the G-series. You get engine diagrams, disassembly steps, and troubleshooting flowcharts. Second, the Engine Electrical System in chapter 4 – alternator testing (Delco Remy VS-121 and Bosch K1 series), starter circuits, and charging system diagnostics. Third, the Fuel Delivery Systems – both LPG (chapter 6) and MPI Gasoline (chapter 7) are covered with specific regulator pressures and injector pulse checks. Skip these and you’ll waste hours chasing a no-start that a factory voltage spec would fix in ten minutes.
Safety Warnings on Page 2 – Read Them
The manual opens with Important Safety Information. Page 2 from SB2003E00 tells you: do not operate without reading the Operator’s Guide; use a hoist for components 50 lb. or more; watch for hot parts after shutdown; remove filler caps with a rag to relieve pressure. This is not feel-good advice. I’ve seen a technician burn his arm because he didn’t let an engine cool before pulling a radiator cap. The manual spells out each hazard. Use it.
Engine Mechanical and Electrical Systems: What the Factory Includes
The Engine section covers the B3.3 diesel and the G424Fi LPG/natural gas engine. Chapter 3 – Engine Mechanical System includes cylinder head removal sequence, ring gap specs, and valve clearance adjustments. Chapter 4 – Engine Electrical System goes into the starter, alternator output tests, and wiring harness routing. Then chapter 5 – Engine Management System (EMS) gives you the diagnostic connectors, sensor resistance values, and ECM pinouts for the MPI and LPG variants. If you’ve got a G20/25/30P-5 that won’t idle, that’s where you start.
The Fuel delivery chapters (6 and 7) are model-specific. For the LPG system, you get the mixer adjustment procedure and vacuum hose routing. For the MPI gasoline system, you get fuel pressure test ports and injector flow rates. Both include the required tool lists – you’ll need a pressure gauge, a tachometer, and a multimeter with the right leads. Don’t guess which adapter fits. The manual lists part numbers.
OEM vs Aftermarket: Which One Do You Trust?
Aftermarket manuals often round torque specs to the nearest five foot-pounds. That’s fine for a lawnmower. For a D35C forklift that hauls three tons, a few ft-lb off can stretch a bolt past yield. The Doosan factory manual gives you exact values – for example, the torque specs page from SB2004E00 lists both Newton-meters and foot-pounds with the tightening sequence. I’ve used the same page to reseal countless engine timing covers. No guesswork. No “consult your dealer”. Just the number Doosan stamped on the drawing.
This manual also includes wiring diagrams in the Electric Schematic section (SB4258E02). That’s separate from the Vehicle System sections. If you’re chasing a short in the harness of a G20/25/30P-5, you can trace each wire gauge and connector pin. The Electrical chapter in SB4241E00 gives you component locations and connector views. I’ve used it to diagnose a failed EMS relay on a D33S that had no spark – took twenty minutes instead of two hours.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Does this manual cover the D35C-5 model?
- Yes. The D35C-5 is listed on page 1 of the manual contents under models: D35C-5.
- Can I use this manual for a G20E-5 with the LPG system?
- The G20E-5 is listed as G20/25/30E-5 in the model list, but note that this manual covers the G20(FEE) LP/Gasoline engine and the G424Fi LPG engine in separate sections. You’ll find the LPG fuel delivery system in chapter 6 of the SB4241E00 binder. That chapter includes the regulator pressure specs, vaporizer overhaul, and the stepper motor adjustment procedure. If your G20E-5 uses the Mitsubishi-based engine with the FEE system, the diagrams are correct. Check your engine model plate – if it says G20(FEE), you’re good. If it’s a different variant, you may need the Doosan 4TNV98 & 4TNE98 Diesel Engine Service Manual but that’s diesel only.
Your time is money. Every hour you spend cross-referencing aftermarket data is an hour you could have spent finishing the job. The 1651 pages in this manual cover every system: engine, electrical, fuel, power train, vehicle system, hydraulics, and electric schematics. You get the factory torque specs, the correct diagnostic steps, and the safety guidelines that keep you out of the ER. Access the Factory Manual and keep it on your tablet or print the sections you need. No subscriptions. No ads. Just the OEM documentation that Doosan intended.
