Displacement is 1250 cm³ (about 76 cubic inches) with a rated 75.5 horsepower at 2150 rpm on the 90 P-CV P5. The manual also gives the optional brake-equipped motor and the soundproofed superstructure. If you’re pulling the cylinder head, you need to see the factory tightening sequence – it’s in the manual, not something you guess from a forum post.

Transmission: 2-Speed Gearbox with 4-Stage Transfer

The OCR shows “Boite 2 vitesses et 4 étages” – that’s a two-speed gearbox mated to a four-stage transfer case. That gives you eight forward speeds and eight reverse, with road and worksite ranges. The manual includes the shift linkage adjustment specs and the oil capacity (12.5 liters for the gearbox). For the transfer case, you’ll find the recommended oil type and fill procedure. Skip that step and you’ll be pulling the whole driveline later.

VARIOYN Hydraulic Circuit: Load-Sensing Logic

The 75 P and 90 P use the VARIOYN system – a variable-displacement pump with load sensing that directs flow where it’s needed. The manual explains the circuit in French (the original language), but the diagrams are universal. Page 73 shows the complete hydraulic schematic with line sizes and relief valve settings. If you’re diagnosing a sluggish swing or a weak crowd, start there. The manual gives you the test points and pressure values in bars – convert to psi if you must, but work from the factory numbers.

Does This Manual Cover Both the 75 P and the 90 P?

Yes. The title says 75 P and 90 P, and the content treats them together. The differences are noted: the 90 P-B has a 48% gradeability vs 45% on the 75 P, and the speeds differ slightly. Underneath, both share the same Deutz engine, VARIOYN hydraulics, and two-speed/four-stage transmission. You’ll find separate tables for capacities and dimensions where they deviate. One manual, two models – no confusion.

3 Reasons to Choose the OEM Documentation

Factory torque specs. The manual lists every critical fastener – cylinder head bolts, wheel lug nuts, swing drive bolts – in metric Nm. No rounding, no “tighten until snug.”
Accurate wiring diagrams. The electrical section (about 30 pages) covers the starter circuit, alternator, and instrument panel. The ground points are marked, and the wire gauge is spec’d.
Hydraulic pressure settings. The VARIOYN pump control pressures are given for both models. If you set the standby pressure wrong, the machine will either stall or waste fuel. The manual saves you that guesswork.

Source Validity: Original Poclain, Not a Reprint

This is the actual factory technical manual printed in 1984 by CASE Poclain’s training department – “centre formation” on the cover. The file name includes “_fr” because it’s in French, but engineering drawings and torque tables transcend language. I’ve seen too many aftermarket manuals that copy the text but leave out the revision dates. This one has the part numbers and serial number breaks (M075P-A-01 etc.). If you need to cross-reference, you can trust that the data matches what the line used when these machines were built.
